In the middle of the night, in the middle of the night
Just call my name, I'm yours to tame
In the middle of the night, in the middle of the night
I'm wide awake, I crave your taste
All night long 'til morning comes
I'm getting what is mine, you gon' get yours, oh no, ooh
In the middle of the night, in the middle of the night, oh....

Siya

I slammed my phone on the table in frustration and stormed up the stairs toward my room. I had only made it halfway when the main door opened. Freezing on the spot, I watched Ryan step inside. The sight of him just made my anger burn hotter.

But I decided it was best to say nothing, so I ignored him completely and continued heading toward my room.

‘Siya, do you really plan to act like everything’s normal after seeing those photos?’ Just as I expected, my mind instantly reminded me of the one thing I was trying to forget.

‘No, I haven’t forgotten. I just don’t want to talk about it right now,’ I explained to myself, hoping to calm down.

‘Great going, Siya… Your husband is out there, cozy with another woman, and here you are, pretending like it’s nothing. What a perfect pair,’ my mind taunted.

‘Nothing like that is happening… I trust my Ryan completely. He would never, not even in his thoughts, betray me,’ I firmly told myself, though I doubted my mind was convinced.

‘If you’re so confident, then why are you staying silent? Why not tell him you got a message of him holding another woman in his arms?’ Listening to my mind’s words was like ripping open a barely healing wound.

And yet, despite it all, a part of me still believes Ryan could never really betray me.

“Siya… Siya…” I heard his voice calling after me, and I stopped in my tracks.

That voice was none other than Ryan’s. Hearing him, I snapped back to reality, lifting my head to realize I’d already reached my room.

“Yeah…” I responded without looking at him.

“What happened?” he asked.

“Ahh… nothing. Why are you asking? Is there something you’re expecting to happen?” I replied, still keeping my gaze fixed on the mirror before me.

I avoided his eyes, knowing the pull they had on me, the way those deep blue oceans could make me lose myself entirely. Secretly, I always prayed that if we ever had children, they’d inherit his eye color, not mine.

‘Siya… are you out of your mind? You need to be asking if he’s cheating on you, not daydreaming about your future children’s eye color!’ my inner voice reminded me, pulling me back to reality.

I took a deep breath, swallowing down the hesitation, trying to gather the courage to ask where he’d been.

"Siya, if something’s wrong, please tell me… don’t stay so silent." Ryan said, coming closer and gently turning me to face him, his eyes searching mine.

Before I could lose myself in his gaze, I managed to ask, "Where were you until now?" I said, fingers crossed, silently hoping he wouldn’t lie to me.

"I… I was at the office, where else would I be?" he answered, hesitating slightly.

Sure, his presence in the office was clear, but it didn’t feel like the full story, and I needed to know everything.

"And?" I pressed on, my voice calm but firm.
