Y/N’s entire world had shifted. In less than 24 hours, she had gone from being just another face among the crowd to being bound to seven deadly demons. The thought was ridiculous, like something out of a nightmare. Yet here she was, standing in front of them, every muscle in her body tensed like a coiled spring.
The van that Namjoon had “acquired” was silent as it sped down the dark road, the city lights fading into the distance. Y/N sat in the backseat, sandwiched between Taehyung and Jin. She had no idea where they were taking her, and for the first time since meeting them, a sliver of doubt crept into her mind. She wasn’t scared—at least, that’s what she kept telling herself—but the silence was suffocating.
Taehyung shifted beside her, his fingers drumming impatiently on his thigh. His eyes flickered to her now and then, but she refused to meet his gaze. He was Envy, after all, and there was something unsettling about the way his eyes darkened every time one of the others spoke to her.
Namjoon, sitting in the front passenger seat, was speaking in low tones to Jungkook, who was behind the wheel. Y/N couldn’t make out the conversation, but every now and then, Namjoon’s eyes would flick to her in the rearview mirror, as if reminding her that she wasn’t going anywhere.
“You’re awfully quiet,” Jimin purred from the front seat, his voice carrying a teasing lilt. Lust was his sin, and he wore it proudly, his smirk lazy and self-assured. “A little scared, perhaps?”
Y/N clenched her fists, her eyes narrowing. “I’m not scared,” she muttered, though the edge in her voice betrayed her irritation. She didn’t do fear. She didn’t do submission.
Jin chuckled beside her, his hand absently tracing patterns on his leg. “You should be,” he said, his voice calm but laced with something dangerous. “We’re not like the humans you know.”
Y/N shot him a glare. “I can see that.”
“Careful,” Yoongi drawled from the backseat, his eyes half-lidded with boredom, though there was a sharpness beneath the surface. “Pride can be a deadly thing, even for you.”
Pride. The irony wasn’t lost on her, considering Namjoon was Pride incarnate. Yet she wouldn’t let them see her falter. She had already survived more than anyone should have to. This was just another fight—a different kind of challenge.
The car slowed, and Y/N’s heart rate spiked as she glanced out the window. They had arrived at some sort of estate—a mansion, sprawling and ancient, its silhouette stark against the night sky. It was isolated, far from the city, surrounded by dense forest. A perfect place to hide seven demons and their unwilling… guest.
The van came to a stop, and Namjoon was out before Y/N could even process what was happening. He opened her door with a calm precision that sent a chill down her spine. “Get out.”
Y/N swallowed her instinct to snap back. Instead, she slipped out of the van, her eyes scanning the mansion. She was weighing her options—whether running would even be worth it—when she felt Jungkook’s presence behind her, too close for comfort.
“Thinking of escaping?” he whispered, his voice low and taunting. “You can try. But you won’t get far.”
Y/N shot him a look. “Don’t test me.”
Jungkook’s smirk widened, his eyes glittering with amusement. “Oh, we’re going to have fun with you.”
Before she could respond, Namjoon stepped forward, his presence commanding. “Let’s go inside. There’s much to discuss.”
Reluctantly, Y/N followed them into the mansion. The interior was as grand as she had expected—high ceilings, dark wood, and ancient artifacts that made it feel like a museum in its own right. But there was a darkness to it, an oppressive atmosphere that made her skin crawl.
The seven demons spread out as they entered the grand hall, each of them moving like they owned the place. Which, technically, they did. Namjoon took the lead, of course, standing at the head of the long table in the center of the room. Y/N stood at the far end, arms crossed, her eyes darting from one demon to the next.
“You haven’t asked the question yet,” Namjoon said after a moment of silence.
Y/N frowned. “What question?”
“What happens now.”
Y/N clenched her jaw. She wasn’t about to give them the satisfaction of asking, but Namjoon’s steady gaze was relentless, and she knew there was no point in stalling.
“What happens now?” she finally bit out, her voice cold.
Namjoon’s smile was slow, deliberate. “Now, we make a deal.”
“A deal?” Y/N’s eyes narrowed.
Jin leaned back against the wall, his arms crossed as he watched her. “You freed us. That means you owe us.”
Y/N’s stomach twisted. She had suspected as much. “And what exactly do I owe you?”
Namjoon’s gaze darkened, his eyes gleaming with a dangerous light. “Your loyalty. Your service.”
Y/N scoffed. “In your dreams.”
Hoseok, who had been pacing the room like a restless beast, growled. “You don’t have a choice.”
“Actually,” Yoongi drawled, pushing himself off the wall, “she does.”
All eyes turned to him, and Y/N frowned. Was Yoongi offering her a way out?
“What do you mean?” she asked, her voice guarded.
Yoongi shrugged lazily, but there was a glint of amusement in his eyes. “You’re human. We can’t force you into anything…yet.”
Y/N stared at him, not sure whether to feel relieved or more on edge. Yoongi’s tone suggested there was more to his words than what he was letting on.
“But make no mistake,” Namjoon interrupted, his voice low and dangerous. “You are bound to us. Whether you like it or not. And eventually, you will have to choose.”
“Choose what?” Y/N demanded, her frustration boiling over.
Jungkook’s grin was sharp, almost predatory. “To become one of us.”
Y/N’s heart skipped a beat. “Become one of you?”
Namjoon stepped forward, his gaze intense, unwavering. “You freed us with your blood. That bond isn’t something you can break. It ties you to us…in ways you don’t understand yet.”
Y/N shook her head, her mind racing. “You’re insane.”
“Am I?” Namjoon’s smile widened, his eyes flashing with something dark. “You’ll see soon enough.”
Before Y/N could respond, the room seemed to shift again, the air growing colder, heavier. She could feel the weight of their power pressing down on her, suffocating. And for the first time, a sliver of fear wormed its way into her chest.
Namjoon stepped even closer, his voice a low, dangerous whisper. “You can run all you want. But you won’t escape us.”
Y/N swallowed hard, her resolve wavering for just a moment. But then, she straightened, forcing herself to meet Namjoon’s gaze head-on.
“I’ll figure it out,” she said, her voice steady. “I’ll find a way to break this.”
Namjoon chuckled darkly, shaking his head. “You’re welcome to try, little human. But remember…we are the seven deadly sins. You don’t break us. We break you.”
