Eeeeep - surprise smol chapter!! Why? Cause it's my birthday and Wednesday, it was meant to be teehee <3

~

"I just wanted to be your strength, Taehyungie."

Taehyung stared ahead. Jimin's confession from this morning playing in his head.

It was impossible, all of it was.

But, he believed him.

The truth was that he didn't need to have seen the clock on his wrist to believe Jimin.

But he did see it.

Taehyung's eyes closed as he willed the last 24 hours not to have happened.

Seeing those photos, losing his goddamn mind, meeting Jimin at the park, and then Jeongguk at Prometheus Towers.

It was all so much.

He didn't regret the last 24 hours. He couldn't really. Not when Jimin bared his soul to him. Not when he was right about Jeongguk.

God, Taeri... Jeongguk... what else had he been blind about?

The clock, the clock.

Taehyung suppressed the cold ice chill that darted up his spine. That clock on Jimin's wrist. No. Don't think about it.

Taehyung stared ahead, passed the stacks of paperwork he had to get through, his last words to Jimin from this morning ringing in his head.

He dropped him home at 6.30 am. Neither knew where they stood now. His grandmother's engagement ring no longer sat on Jimin's finger. Jimin's ring finger. On his left hand. His left hand where there was a clock. Running down. Running down to March 15th.

Taehyung let out a shuddery breath. Stop.

His last words were cruel in hindsight.

He had asked Jimin for some time.

He needed a timeout to just sort through what he had heard. Take it all in. Deal with it.

Jimin had been kind and gracious. That's who he was as a person. His kind and gracious friend who had 400 and something odd days left on this planet and had for some unspeakable reason chosen to devote each one to help Taehyung of all people.

Take all the time you need.

That's what Jimin had said.

And now here he was sitting and doing just that. Taking his time. But he wasn't sorting through anything, because he couldn't bear to think about it. He couldn't think about the fact that Jimin had put himself through so much. He couldn't think about how in a little over a year, Jimin wouldn't be here anymore.
