A few days later

Logan: (sitting on the edge of the bed, looking worried) "Ace, I just got a call. I have to leave for London on a business trip. It's really important, but I'm worried about leaving you alone when you're 20 weeks pregnant."

Rory: (placing her hand on Logan's) "Logan, I understand. This is something you have to do, and I know how important it is. I'll be fine. We have so many people around us who can help."

Logan: (sighs) "I know, but I hate the thought of not being here for you. What if something happens?"

Rory: (smiling reassuringly) "We'll be okay. I'll have Mom, Grandma, and even Dad and Gigi checking in on me. Plus, we can call every day. It's only a week, right?"

Logan: (nodding) "Yeah, just a week. I just... I feel like I should be here with you."

Rory: (gently) "And you will be, in spirit. This is just a temporary separation. Our baby and I will be waiting for you when you get back. You go and ace that business trip."

Logan: (leaning in to kiss her forehead) "Thank you, Rory. I don't know what I'd do without you."

Rory: (smiling) "You won't have to find out. Now, go pack. I'll be here, cheering you on from home."

Scene: Rory and Logan's Bedroom, 6 AM

Logan finishes zipping his bag, the early morning light casting a soft glow through the window. He turns to see Rory standing there, tears welling up in her eyes, one hand resting on her baby bump.

Rory: "I'm going to miss you so much."

Logan sits on the edge of the bed and pulls her into a side hug, gently stroking her hair.

Logan: "Ace, it'll be okay. It's only a week."

Rory: "I know, but it feels like forever."

Logan: "I promise I'll call you every day. We'll get through this."

Rory sniffs and nods, resting her head on his shoulder. They sit there for a moment, holding each other, savoring the closeness before he has to leave.

Logan then stands up, kisses Rory's forehead, and kneels down to kiss her baby bump.

Logan: "Hey baby, daddy loves you and I'm gonna miss you. Take care of mama for me, okay?"

With that, he grabs his bag and heads out of the apartment. When he gets in the elevator, he leans his head back and starts to quietly cry, the weight of leaving his family behind for a week hitting him hard.

Rory and Logan's Apartment, Moments Later

Rory stands in the doorway, watching as Logan disappears down the hallway. She wipes away a tear and takes a deep breath, trying to steady herself. She knows it's only a week, but the thought of being without him feels overwhelming.

Elevator, Logan's Perspective

Logan steps out of the elevator, still fighting back tears. He takes a moment to compose himself before heading to his car. As he drives to the airport, his mind is filled with thoughts of Rory and their baby.

Rory's Apartment, Living Room

Rory walks into the living room and sits down on the couch. She picks up her phone and sends a quick text to her mom, Lorelai.

Rory's Text: "Hey Mom, Logan just left. Feeling a bit emotional. Can we talk?"

Within minutes, her phone buzzes with a reply.

Lorelai's Text: "Of course, kiddo. I'm here. Want me to come over?"

Rory's Text: "Yes, please."
