A new chapter for Rory and Logan

Final goodbyes

In the morning, as they are getting ready in their bedroom, Rory and Logan have a conversation while Logan is dressing baby Freddie.

Rory: "Logan, can you grab Freddie's blue onesie? It's in the top drawer."

Logan: "Sure thing. Here it is. Hey, buddy, let's get you dressed, okay?"

Rory: "Thanks. Did you get any sleep last night? Freddie was up a lot."

Logan: "Not much, but it's okay. I'll manage. How about you?"

Rory: "Same here. We need to figure out a better routine for him."

Logan: "Yeah, we do. But for now, let's just get through the morning. We've got this."

After they finish getting Freddie dressed, Rory glances at the clock and sighs.

Rory: "I really hate to leave him for more than a couple of hours. I wish I could stay longer."

Logan: "I know, it's tough. But it's just a short trip to New York. He'll be okay with me."

Rory: "Yeah, I just keep worrying. I don't want him to feel like I'm abandoning him."

Logan: "You're not abandoning him, Rory. You're doing this for both of you, and you'll be back before you know it."

Rory: "I hope so. I just want to make sure he knows I'm always here."

Rory's First Day at the New York Times

Rory stands in the bustling newsroom, feeling a mix of excitement and nerves. She's introduced to her mentor, Jane, who gives her a tour of the office.

Jane: "Welcome aboard, Rory! We're thrilled to have you. Let's get you settled in and then we'll dive into your first assignment."

Rory: "Thank you, Jane. I'm really excited to be here."

Scene: Logan at Home with Freddie

Logan is in the kitchen, trying to balance Freddie on one arm while preparing a bottle with the other. Freddie starts to fuss, and Logan quickly soothes him.

Logan: "Hang in there, buddy. Daddy's got this."

Scene: Rory in a Meeting

Rory sits in a conference room, taking notes as Jane discusses the latest story assignments. Rory's phone buzzes with a message from Logan: "We're doing great! Freddie just had his bottle."

Rory smiles and quickly replies: "Miss you both. Good luck today!"

Logan's Work Call

Logan is on a conference call, Freddie in his lap. He tries to focus on the discussion about a new project but keeps glancing at Freddie, who is playing with his toy.

Philip: "Logan, what's your take on this?"

Logan: "I think we should move forward with the proposal. I'll draft a summary and send it over by the end of the day."

Logan Struggling with Freddie's Nap

Logan tries to put Freddie down for his nap, but Freddy is fussy and refuses to settle. Logan rocks him, sings to him, and even tries a drive around the block, but nothing works. Logan says to try and calm Freddy down, "Shhh, shhh, it's alright buddy. Dada's got you, you're okay." After a while, Freddie still isn't calming down and Logan's boss is constantly calling him, asking where he is. Eventually, Logan's boss gets impatient and hangs up on him but not before saying, "Huntzberger, if you don't get back on this call in the next five minutes, you're fired."
Scene: Rory's Training Session

Rory is learning the ropes of the newsroom software. Jane stands by, offering guidance.

Jane: "You're picking this up quickly, Rory. Keep it up!"
