"Let go of me." The voice cried out.
Rovena tumbled behind the dumpster, sighing deeply before peeking from behind the wall to observe the situation first.
She squinted as she was able to make out a boy with spiky white hair shoving another one to the ground, a humongous Ghorr approaching the younger boy with a shriek.
A spineless creature with giant pointy yellowish teeth and small wings but no legs.
As it snarled towards the boy who Rovena thought had broken his legs cause of how motionless he remained, she got out of her hiding spot with an eye roll, gliding her fingers softly across a censor on her rail gun, transforming it into a taser.
"Hey you, get away from him this instant." She ordered; her voice echoing in the deserted alley. The young boy and his 'pet' turned around, irritation simmering on both their faces for getting interrupted.
"Who do you think you are, you don't tell me what to do. Azion." He ordered his pet monster which already knew what to do. She smirked at the menacing looking beast which barreled toward her, with a palpable speed that actually made her took a reliable stance so as to not lose balance when it lunged.
The beast flew past her, Rovena spurned around immediately, maintaining the same spot while it comes at her with an even more incredible speed. It attacks her with its poisonous fangs, she dodges quickly, it hurled at her again, this time with a drill infused on its tail.
Her brows furrow and that was the perfect distraction as the creature seemed to have landed a successful hit on its opponent, sending her flying backwards, away from it.
"Will a taser be enough to bring this thing down, it has been cyber-forged." She breathed out, wiping the small blood that leaked from face with an enthusiastic smile. "Time to get serious." She muttered to herself.
As the Ghorr attacked again, she swiftly slides beneath it and with equal pace. She slammed her taser on its rough back before it got a chance to face her, cranked the taser intensity to full power, a crackling energy surged through the air, striking it with a violent jolt.
The creature's body convulsed as the electric current coursed through its massive frame, eliciting a guttural growl that reverberated through the empty space.
The younger boy, hidden behind a nearby bin, trembled as he watched. His heart pounded in his chest, and his small hands gripped his knees tightly.
"Miss, you're going to get hurt," he whispered under his breath, though his voice barely made a sound.
Every sharp movement she made, every attack against the monstrous Ghorr, filled him with equal parts awe and terror."How can anyone be this brave? And for me?" he muttered, wide-eyed. She looked unstoppable, but the fear clawed at his chest as the creature made to stay up, throwing weak attacks.
"What if... what if she doesn't win?"
His breath hitched as she stumbled, for a split second, the Ghorr seemed to be regaining. "Miss!" he shouted, though he couldn't force his legs to move.
The spiky hair kid however watched with pure hate. When he realized that he might not win if he stood and left everything to his companion.
A satisfied smile crossed Rovena's lips as the beast spasm in agony, its eyes, one predatory now reflected distress.
The shock disrupted its primal instincts, causing it to stagger backward, clawing the ground with it lanky wings in a desperate attempt to regain control to no avail.
She kicked it with an intense power magnitude of her mecha-boot which sent it flying into the wall, falling on the ground with a loud thud that caused dust to rise from the ground, its fierce growls morphing into pained roars.
As the dust cleared up. Rovena sighed and approached the boy who finally got off the ground. The Ghorr and the spiky hair boy was nowhere to be found. "Brat." She murmured.
The boy's eye widened in horror, Rovena laughed quietly. "Don't worry kiddo. I won't hurt you." She said, as she walked closer.
"No, look out!" he yelled, Rovena turned a barrage of knives flying towards her simultaneously.
Uh oh.
If she tries to fend them off, it would definitely hit the little boy. Rovena had hoped she wouldn't have to use this. But, desperate times calls for stupid measures. She stood before the boy with an exaggerated stance, her hand tugging at an imaginary hat as if she was about to perform a stage magic trick that would blow the audience's underwear's away.
"Time to bring out the big guns," she muttered, reaching for a hidden compartment in her suit. With a fleet motion, she pressed a button on her wrist panel, and the compact energy shield generator whirred to life.
A translucent dome began to expand around them, shimmering with pulsating light. Just as the first knife struck the barrier, the shield flared brightly, absorbing the impact and deflecting the rest.
However, the shield flickered ominously as more knives rained down, the magic power and resilience of the spikey hair kid surprised her, but she knew she wound rather be on defense than battling a kid that barely looked thirteen.
With a final crackle, it blinked off, leaving them exposed. Rovena shrugged, a smirk tugging at her lips.
"Oh well, saw that one coming. Guess it isn't ready yet."
The spikey-haired kid glanced at his tired pet, then charged at Rovena. bouncing on his feet as knives materialized in the air around him.
She rolled her eyes and sidestepped, grabbing him by the shirt. "That's enough from you little bro."
She breathed, tossing him aside, sending him stumbling into the alley wall. "Off you go."The spiky hair kid stayed on the floor, it was his turn to be paralyzed. Rovena watched him intently, cautious of any little movement.
She hated how sneaky the little twerp was, so she kept her Violet orbs on his frail back. He raised his hand without looking up from the ground and just like that.
They disappeared.
