season 1, episode 1

The music isn't even that loud and there are a few people dancing while I sway on top of a table holding my beloved bottle of vodka. I don't even realize how embarrassed I am because I'm too busy moving my body.

I don't know if it's the drink or the music, but I keep my eyes closed. Until I almost fall, a low scream almost escapes my lips but I feel an arm around my waist.

I look up and the guy gives me a small smile. The shock passes when he starts moving near me, his hand swaying my hip making me dance again.

I sip more of my vodka and move my hips back and forth while he sways close to me.

"I love this song," he says, his hand caressing my hip surreptitiously, his cold fingers touching a piece of my skin.

I don't care, and I don't answer either.

When I look at the bar, my sister is watching me out of the corner of her eye. I can feel her frustration from here, but I don't care about that either.

I'm too dizzy to care.

I keep ignoring the glares Geri gives me. The man keeps trying to get closer.

I look back at the bar and my world stops. I put my hand on the guy's chest and push him, making him stumble and jump from the table. I can hear him curse something, but I don't care.

I don't care about anything.

Except Cordell Walker.

My eyes follow him as he approaches the bar along with Liam, his brother. Liam holds his disappointed gaze on me for a few seconds and I swallow hard.

But Cordell doesn't seem to see me. As usual.

I keep on dancing, and drinking, while I keep my eyes on him. Liam leaves and Cordell remains seated, talking to my sister about something I most curious about. I don't know the subject of the conversation, but I wish I could hear them from here.

When another song starts to play, Cordell walks to the side of the bar and raise his hand towards Geri. I can't help but feel my skin itching a little when she reluctantly take his hand and they start to dance.

I swallow my jealousy and my stupid emotions.

In my feeble attempt to get down from the table, I trip over the chair and fall backwards onto the floor. I groan under my breath as I look up at the ceiling that is now spinning above me.

The bottle slips from my hand and spills vodka on the floor, the strong smell of alcohol invades my nose and makes me feel even more dizzy.

I move my hands a little near my stomach and try to stand up, but my body feels like it weighs a ton.
