Chapter 6: The snake king

The Destiny's Bounty passes a mountain as the postman, on a bicycle with improvised wings emerges above from the clouds, holding a parcel.

"Wait! Slow down! I have a package for Sensei Wu!" The postman calls out.

"First, I'll stomp on his tail. Then when he turns, a thunder clap to his ears. Then when he's stunned, I'll disarm him." Lloyd creates starts an hypothetical scenario to brainstorm how to defeat a serpentine.

"Too late, he's already hypnotized you and now you're under his control." Cole cuts Lloyd off.

"Or he's already put you in a squeeze." Zane adds on.

"He has already turned invisible and is nowhere to be seen." Haruki shakes her head.

"Or spit on you with his hallucinatory venom. Trust me, bad stuff." Kai shivers slightly.

Lloyd lets out a frustrated groan and turns to his uncle. "Uncle, what's the best way to stun a Serpentine if you don't know what kind they are?"

"Sadly, it was the Sacred Flute you five carelessly lost." Wu points his staff at the five ninja.

"Hey, no, no, no, we didn't lose it. Pythor stole it." Jay corrects.

"Whatever the case, without it I fear we have nothing to combat their powers. We may have prevented them from uniting in the past, but they will try again, and one day they will be stronger." Wu says as he makes his way out of the room.

"Don't worry. I've almost reached my full potential, and when I become the Green Ninja, we're not gonna need any magic flute." Cole smiles.

"You're gonna be the Green Ninja? Hahaha, don't make me laugh." Kai rolls his eyes.

"I thought it was decided that I was destined to become the Green Ninja." Zane says.

"Oh! The only thing decided about you, Zane, is that you're weird." Jay places a hand on Zane's shoulder.

Lloyd and Haruki stand in the back of the room awkwardly. "Not this again..." Lloyd sighs.

"It's all what they are talking about these days." Haruki shakes her head.

"What's the big deal about this green ninja anyway?" Lloyd looks up at Haruki.

"Well, the green ninja is prophesied to defeat your father in battle, and bring peace to the world, or something like that. I don't really care." Haruki looks at her arguing teammates.

Sensei Wu enters the room again, holding five boxes. The five individual ninja including Lloyd turn their attention to Wu.

"What's in the boxes?" Lloyd runs up to his uncle and eyes the boxes eagerly.

Wu looks at the ninja and places the boxes on the table. "Your new uniforms." Wu answers.

The ninja's expressions instantly brightened and grabbed their individual boxes. Kai and Haruki grabbed the wrong boxes and exchanged with each other.

Jay eagerly opens his box first and pulls out a blue uniform with silver armor. "Whoa! They've got, like, armor." Jay gasps in awe.

"I love the gold highlights." kai smiles.

"Battle claws!" Cole cheers as Haruki gives him a confused expression.

"The material is really light and breathable." Zane analyzes.

"Thank you sensei." Haruki smiles.

"Oh, nothing for me?" Lloyd asks.

"Um, you get, uh, the box." Wu gives Lloyd the box. Lloyd looks at box with a slight look of disappointment.
