Vincents POV:
Scott turned around to look at me. I gave him a small smile to show I wasn't a weirdo with zero emotion. "Wanna walk home with me?" I asked, a bit nervous about his answer. Scott looked at me surprised for some reason.
"Uhh.." He looks back to the bus that was just leaving behind him and then back at me. He looked unsure. My smile fell because I knew he didn't wanna walk home with me. Scott waited and then took a deep breath before giving an answer that surprised me. "..Yeah, sure why not" He shrugged, answering my question. I feel a little happy. I mean he did say yes, but it still made me sad he didn't want to at first.
"Oh okay! Cool.. uhm which way do you go?" I turned to the street and so did Scott. He pointed to the left.
"This way." I nodded and walked down the street with him. A couple of minutes pass of us not talking. I looked around to see if I could point something out so we could start a conversation. But it was nothing but boring buildings and grass. The silence started to make me overthink about if Scott didn't really wanna be my friend. I also thought about my brother and my mom. I was really questioning if I should trust the people around me. I don't know why but I've always had this small voice in the back of my head. It tells me everyone's plotting behind my back about how to kill me. Okay, I know that's not true but I actually think my brother is thinking about that... Can I say that? I don't think I can..who cares? I snap out of my thinking and look over to Scott. He looked like he was thinking about something too.
"What are you thinking about?" I ask bluntly. He looked down to me with a little chuckle.
"Oh, it's just a stupid book I just remembered" He smiles looking embarrassed.
"you like to read?" he definitely seems like the type to read books. If he doesn't read, he's lying.
"No, not really" lier.
"Whattt? No way," I say, feeding into his lies. "You definitely look like a reader." I laugh.
"Welp you're wrong" He gave a blank smile and looked away from me for a second thinking about something. "Okay, fine I used to be..."
"You used to play uno?" I said that trying to be funny by the way.....I don't think he got the joke. He looked at me confused.
"What? No..." he shakes his head. "I used to read books"
"Oh." It was only awkward because he didn't get my humorous joke. I clear my throat. "Soooo, why'd you stop?"
"Eh, I guess it just got boring!" He looked annoyed, so I just tried to change the subject.
"Yeah, it can sometimes... Do you play any instruments?" I asked, knowing I did, not thinking he did.
"No. Do you?" I nod at him smiling. "Really? Which one?" he asked.
"I play the Piano." I love bragging about my ability to play the piano.
"Wow that's pretty cool" he smiles. Now that I'm looking at it..it looked like the realest smile he gave me since we met. "For how long?"
"Since I was like...six" I was surprised he actually seemed interested.
"Don't tell anyone, but I'm kind of a sucker for classical music. The piano is always my favorite part."
"Really?" I held the shoulder straps of my backpack tightly.
"Yeah... definitely. Um... can you show me how you play sometime?" Wow! He actually wants to hear me play! That's just awesome.
"Sounds good to me!" I smile happily. Me and Scott get closer to our neighborhood. The neighborhood we lived in had a small park that you had to walk through to get to it. As we were passing through I heard something.
