RIO VIDAL

"Hahah, you have honestly got to be kidding me,"
I say halfheartedly, staring blankly into Evanora's face.

"Mom, I can explain— this is only Silas," Agatha cries.

Im staring deeply into Agatha, her soul. I sometimes question as if her value would be as good here as it would down there.

Slowly, I move ever so slightly towards Agatha, locking eyes with her. Silas is in on the further end of Agatha breathing in and out very loudly, I think he's scared.

I bump Agatha's shoulder lightly, indicating her to look at Silas, weeping silently. Evanora is crying a him a bunch of nonsense as we stand here quietly.

"Where are your parents, boy?" Evanora spits, moving herself directly infront of Silas.

"Psst, Rio.. let's go, quick," she points to the forestry trail ahead us.

I nod my head and follow her lead, lacing my fingers with hers. Suddenly, We are running as fast as we can as we dodge all the trees that approach us.

There's a small abandoned cottage lost in these woods, legend says an original witch had lived there before she vanished mysteriously, taking all her belongings and craft with her, leaving the house empty— with all gone but her tatted furniture.

I look at Agatha as she is slowly panicking, now regretting her decision. Our fingers are still locked and we're walking slower, she turns her  head lower then seized her hand from mine.

There's a weird silence and Agatha sits pondering to herself.

"What are you thinking about?" I ask, swinging my leg slightly out of boredom.

"Do you know what the road is?"

The road.
"You're walking the road?!" I say bemusedly. She turns to face me and laughs slightly.

"I don't know, I just— my mother said that her and my sisters are to guide me how when I'm ready," she's fidgeting with her hands while she talks.

"Oh yeah, you're not ready to walk the road," I laugh, walking closer towards her.

"Get lost," she murmurs under her breath, not losing eye contact with me.

"What do you want Agatha?" I whisper in her ear, chuckling ever so slightly.

"I want to find my power, take control of it,"

I palm her face as we're lent against a jagged tree,
tracing small lines on her as we speak.
Lowering my hand down to her neck, I slowly grasp some of her hair twisting the curls with my finger.

"Oh shit," I gasp, pointing behind her. The cottage. We had ran a few miles into the wood, far enough that our screams wouldn't be heard.

We're looking at eachover intensely while trying to cipher our minds, we both nod parting from the tree as we start the trail to the cottage.

We walk on a mud-spatted path and she's humming something noiselessly. I know that song. I just can't put my finger on it. It sounds infamous, cursed.

"You ready?" As she turns to face me, I nod signalling for her to continue the lead.

Let's hope nothing bad comes out of this.
