RIO

There's an eerie dread in the air scorching my ears— piercing the tip of my fingers with a sharp coldness.

Agatha is sleeping, she lay next to me quietly, breathing tacitly.

I'm sat on the edge of the bed staring endlessly into the empty walls that surround us. Really, we should've returned to Salem, my presence to my family back home will go unnoticed for sure. Although, Agatha I'm not sure can say the same.

She lives for a rush, I know she does— but whatever we saw earlier on was tolling on her mind.

I turn and peer at her chest moving in and out slowly, admiring her from afar.

Rustle.

I jump out of shock, springing to the floor like a scared cat. Rushing to the top window, I crouch slightly peering at what follows with it.

I don't see anything.

I hear the door click.

Tip-toeing silently, I frantically shake Agatha— attempting to wake her.

"Ag, someone's here, it might be the same guy, just come quick," her eyes open slowly, she's groggy but responsive.

Bang.

We froze in silence.

I grab her hand and lead us ahead— scattering quickly to the closest near by.

"Shh, just keep quiet," I whisper softly in her ear, her breath is pacing at a high speed and the footsteps were getting louder.

The door opens.
Well fuck.

I'm clutching her hand as we sit in silence, fearing for what is coming next.

"Rio.." she mutters soundlessly.

"Yes, Agatha?"

"Please don't mention Silas Scratch to anyone, if my mother has not already damned my name.. I- I cannot handle it,"

The faint smile I had on my face had faded, she thought I would do that?

We're looking at each-over intensely as we're jam-packed together. Our knees are touching, our eyes are hugging, and I can see few tears brim at her eyes.

I go to speak, but I cannot.

"I-"

Were stopped in our tracks as the wardrobe door flies open.
