He opened a drawer, pulling out a worn wallet. Inside, a meagre sum of money – a mere 300 yen – stared back at him. Disappointment and frustration washed over him as he returned the wallet to the drawer.
He headed to the bathroom, his reflection distorted by the cracked mirror. In a moment of anger and self-loathing, he punched his own face, a silent cry of despair echoing in the small room.
