"I dare you to pull the trigger!" Papa sent out a stern warning even though fear was evident in every chunk of his voice.

"I will haunt your every single moment." Aahan's voice imitated steel. I had never witnessed a moment where he appeared that cold.

"Just don't cry when I will haunt
you. Technically." With that said, I felt my vision began to blur. Closing my eyes and with bated breath, I waited for my impending doom. A gun shot rang through the air. Spontaneously, my body jerked back but no sign of pain was discerned.

"Police! Put down every weapon of yours and hands up, everybody!" Several police officers barged into the garage arbitrarily aiming their pistols. On witnessing the situation, the officer in charge gestured his teammates to lower their weapons and be on guard.

"Let me clarify the intrusion." Exclaimed a strange man with dishevelled appearance, vehemently emerging from among the small crowd of officers.

"You..." Aahan seemed to recognize him but his face was emanating confusion, like he couldn't decipher where to put his attention.

"Yes, me. Told you that I won't let you die." The man said, smugly.

"I need the saving. The gun is pointed at me." I said with tears still in my eyes. The strange man turned to me and winking twice he said, "noted."

"Do that again and I will poke your eye out!" I passed him a furious look.

"Calm down. Something got in my eye. I don't wink at soon to be a dead body."

"Say that again and you will turn out to be the only dead body here." Papa and Aahan said in sync that made him shut his mouth.

"You were specially specified to not involve the police." The traitor remarked giving an impassive look to papa.

"Don't give my credit to others." The stranger said, looking at the potbelly disgustingly.

"Who do you think you are?" The potbelly asked, giving the man a condescending glance.

"Definitely not an off guard and shabby culprit." The man replied in an equally condescending way.

"What do you mean?" The potbelly was fuming.

"Like how stupid one can be to break laws with no proper management. Atleast, buy your minions a gun someday." The man looked at Tweedle dee and Tweedle dum, who looked more than ready to flew from the situation. Rest of us were following the exchange back and forth, amused.

"Look at their faces, they might shoot me to help me escape. What do you think now?" Asked the potbelly.

"I am sure your hiring session is over. No use of raising such questions now." Said the man, disappointedly shaking his head.

"But I will raise a quick question. How dare you involved the police?! It's a matter of my daughter's life!" Papa fumed at the man.

"Well.." The man scratched his head and smiled a silly smile, "you see, when I get drunk my personality is no less than a detective on a mission."

"Let me show you my personality. You are the root cause of it all." As soon as Aahan took a step forward, the man scurried away and hide behind Tweedle dee, who began laughing. "Stop! I am ticklish!" Aahan tried to catch the man but he moved away and hide behind Tweedle dum, who being used as a shield by the man, couldn't escape the situation.

"I followed you all here and then went to the police station, thinking I was in charge, and told them the whole ordeal but they presumed me wasted." Explained the man over the burly guy's shoulder. No sooner than Aahan tried to slap him, he ducked.
"OW!" Tweedle dum had to bear the pain. "But then, I showed them your phone which I found lying near the alleyway."

No soon as the man revealed the device, everybody widened their eyes. The man seemed alert. Slowly, he began moving backwards.

"Hey friend, give that back...please." Aahan requested bristling his teeth.

"The apples of my each eye destroy that phone!" The traitor shouted at the burly guys. As soon as the man heard that, he started running towards the exit with others in tow.

Eventually, the officers caught the man and snatched the phone. The burly guys were in cuffs and everything was under control. Except for one traitor.

"Mr. Malhotra, his information regarding your warehouse and an incoming report of an attempted robbery at your house, made us put the two and two together." The officer in charge explained to papa, who gave me a monotonous look and at that moment I wished for the potbelly to pull the trigger.

As if a last wish was happening to be true, the click of a gun resounded. The traitor looked lost holding the gun. Everybody took their stance but Aahan sprinted. In a blur of moments, the gun was fired and Aahan took the shot while shielding me.
