trigger warnings: Emotional Abuse

School had gone surprisingly well that day. I managed to ace my history test, and for a fleeting moment, I felt invincible. But as the lunch bell rang, reality hit me when I crossed paths with Adam.

"Nice outfit, Naomi. Did you raid your grandma's closet?" he sneered, his friends snickering behind him.

The laughter cut through me, igniting the familiar insecurities I was trying to shake off. I took a breath, summoning a steadiness I didn't quite feel.

"At least I'm not trying so hard to impress anyone," I shot back, my voice steady despite the knot tightening in my stomach. Adam raised an eyebrow, but the smirk didn't waver. I turned away, determined not to let this ruin my day.

After school, the sun began to set as I made my way to Evan's apartment. The thought of being with him chased away my earlier discomfort, and my heart raced with anticipation. When I arrived, he greeted me with a warm smile that melted my worries away.

"Hey! I was just about to order some food. Want anything?" he asked, stepping aside to let me in.

"Uh, just whatever you're having is fine," I replied, trying not to let my gaze linger too long on him. He looked so good in that fitted T-shirt and jeans that hugged his form perfectly.

Once inside, I sank into the couch, taking in the cozy space filled with music posters and scattered books. "This place is great you know," I said, a smile creeping onto my lips. "I didn't expect it to feel so... homey."
"Thanks. I like to keep it casual. Just like me," he said, flopping down beside me, our shoulders brushing. The warmth radiating from him sent a shiver down my spine.

"Do you always have this many snacks?" I joked, grabbing a handful of chips from a bowl on the coffee table.
"Only for special guests," he said, a playful glint in his eyes. "And you definitely qualify." His compliment sent a blush creeping up my cheeks. "So, what's the plan for tonight?" I asked
Evan leaned back, his posture relaxed, but his gaze was intense. "I thought we could just hang out, maybe watch something. But if you're up for it, I have a game we can play."

My heart raced at the suggestion, feeling a thrill at the idea of a game. "What kind of game?" I asked, curious."Truth or dare," he replied, a sly smile playing on his lips. "Okay, I'll start. Truth or dare?" I challenged, feeling emboldened by the moment. "Dare," he said confidently, leaning in closer, the space between us shrinking.I hesitated, feeling daring. "I dare you to... kiss me."His eyes widened slightly, surprise flashing across his face before it turned into a confident smirk. "You sure you want that?" he asked, his voice low and teasing.

"Yes," I breathed, my pulse quickening as he leaned in closer, his breath warm against my skin. Our lips met, and it was electrifying. My heart raced as I melted against him, the kiss igniting a fire deep within me. Evan pulled me closer, deepening the kiss, and I felt his hand slide to the back of my neck, his fingers threading through my hair. The kiss was both sweet and consuming,

As we pulled apart, both breathing heavily, my cheeks burned with a mix of embarrassment and exhilaration. "Wow," I whispered, still feeling the warmth of his lips on mine."Yeah, wow," he echoed, his gaze locked onto mine, a mix of surprise and admiration evident in his eyes. i touched my lips with my fingers as i felt the tingeling

"Your turn," he said, leaning in closer, the air thick with an electrifying tension. "Truth or dare?" "Dare," I replied, feeling a mix of exhilaration and curiosity.

Evan's lips curled into a playful smirk. "I dare you to help me decide what to order for dinner."I laughed, surprised by his lighthearted choice. "That's it? You're not going to make me do something crazy?"He chuckled, his eyes sparkling with amusement.
