Finally, someone took the initiative to help. Yes, help is exactly what she needed. Unfortunately, she wasn't going to get much of it from the person, that was leading her backstage; Principal Connor.

"Jordye, I'm so sorry this happened to you."

"'Sorry,' is that all you have to say is sorry? How about you go talk to Chancellor and Andre for once?"

"They've already received their diplomas, they are no longer the responsibility of me or Franklin High. They don't have to listen to me at all."

"Typical." Jordye said as she was still trying her best to brush herself clean. She was taken back by the next words of the principal which made her abruptly stop her attempts.

"Listen, Jordye. You still have to go out there and give that wonderful speech. You have to tell people how great this school is so we can get those funds for next year."

Jordye just stand there with a raised eyebrow. Two words that were plastered in her frontal lobe were, "...nigga what?" The expression on her face should have said it all, but the oblivious principal just stood in front of her and continued to run off at the mouth.

"Do you remember what you have to say?"

Jordye soon softened her face and simply stated, "Yeah, I know what I have to say."

Jordye brushed herself off a little more and proceeded to walk onto center stage.

"Good evening everyone. Please give a warm welcome to the graduating class of 2015!" Jordye spoke into the microphone waiting for the crowd to let out an awkward cheer. She knew everyone was stunned by the condition of her attire, but she didn't let that phase her.

"I know you all saw the best senior prank that was played on the valedictorian, so bravo Chancellor and Andre, bravo." Jordye stated in a sarcastic tone.

"Right now, I would love to share some vital information with you all. Honestly, this school year has been the best year of my life. I wake up each and every weekday eager to learn from the wonderful teachers scattered throughout this auditorium! Although, one major reason I get up is the see the bright and loving faces of my caring peers!"

Once she said that, a roar of fake statements arose. "Yess! That's my best friend" and "...love you too girl!"

The falseness of the people in the front stands made Jordye furious. She attempted not show her frustration, but completely failed. Why was she encouraging and giving credit to a school of this nature? Before she even knew it, she would throw out words that she would not regret.

"You know what? Scratch what I just said."

People in the audience looked at their neighbor with a confused expression. Jordye then continued once she knew she gained everyone's attention.

"This so called wonderful school that we call Franklin High has treated me lower than the depths of hell. As you all know, my father was convicted in 2001. Did you imbeciles, the ones that bullied me of course, ever even try to come to the conclusion that I had nothing to do with it? I was 3 years old for God's sake!" Jordye then found herself becoming a little too heat in front of the larger crowd so she decided to tone it down.

"Listen, over 50% of my fellow graduating class is going to UNC. This is the exact reason on why I will be attending Duke University next fall and become a rival to those who abused me mentally, verbally, and physically these past four years."

By this point in the speech, people were staring at the young, powerful woman on stage in complete shock. Elders even had their hands over their hearts in order to process this information. Jordye continued to express her feeling with her lasting words.

"Excuse my language to all the parents out there that actually respect me, but to everyone else... fuck all of y'all. I'm out this bitch."

Finally, Jordye began to walk off the stage to silence. Seconds afterwords, she hears a selected few clapping. She knew it was her mother, aunt, and step brother, Hakeem.

Not caring what anyone thought, she walked out of that school for the first time with a smile on her face.
