Beep.. Beep.. Beep...

Jordye's alarm woke her from the dark setting of her mind. She obviously forgot to turn it off since school just ended.

She had no dreams that night. Her brain was just black. As she laid in bed with her eyes wide open, she dreaded even looking at her phone. She knew she was the laugh of the town.

Finally after 2 minutes, she got tired of hearing her alarm tone and reached for her phone. Her suspicions were correct when she noticed she gained over 100 notifications on Instagram.

"Look at this stupid ass bitch."

"She deserved it."

"That was for her and her daddy!"

Everyone was up on the prank. All the terrible and cruel comments definitely made Jordye come down off her high. She felt like she was on top of the world when she did her speech, but now she felt stupid, ugly, and depressed.

However, one post caught her eye. It was from Hakeem. He had posted a video of the ending of her speech with the caption, "Y'all tryna whore my lil sis now, but let's not forget how she whored all y'all last night 😂😭"

Jordye just smiled at the simple fact that her brother was supporting her to the very end. After building up enough courage, Jordye swiftly moved over to her Instagram settings; deactivating her account. She had around 70 random strangers following her. She could easily discard the app from her life without missing a beat.

Little did she know, right as she hit the button to end it all. She received a new direct message. This time it was a positive one, unlike the rest.

The person who sent it had the screen name, qcook323. The stranger found her somewhat easily because of the embarrassing viral video plastered all over his popular page.

His message read, "Hey, I know you don't know me but I kinda know you. You're all over my page and I see people trying to clown you. I just wanted you know that you're insanely beautiful and had every right to say what you said. Just keep your head up baby girl. Plus, I heard your coming to Duke. Hope to see you around, colleague."

Unfortunately, Jordye never saw the sweet, loving message from the stranger. She cancelled her account and threw her phone across to room before she had the chance to notice it.

Had she really just missed her plausible best friend; the possible love of her life?
