sea-glass

you pierced through my palms
as i held onto the fragments
you left and all i had left
gripping tighter and tighter

waves rip through my hands
freeing you from my grasp
as i scream and swim
til i can't breathe

seawater flows through my wounds
your touch no longer lingers
the voice that said i love you
is one i no longer register

you rampaged through my dreams
why can't we let go of each other?
sea-glass now a distant melody
and you, a fading memory
