behind the curtains,
yet your heart changes
when others are present.
you keep me a secret
and give me excuses,
lies and lies and lies
my paranoia he refuses.

or the whole entire world.
i'd scream and shout
and feel so proud,
even if you'd never admit
i'm your girl.
so stop telling me
you love me more,
don't tell me
just wait some more.

but it's not privacy,
the truth is
you're afraid.
afraid of
what your friends might say,
would they say
i'm a downgrade?
what if they
laugh at your taste in girls?
yet my happiness
is worth less than their words.
yet you speak of her
with stars in your eyes,
show her off like
she's bonnie and you're clyde.
