The pressures of the mission, isolation, and fear of failure weigh heavily on him, but he finds solace in a simulated reality capsule, a tool designed to help the crew relax by creating vivid, lifelike environments of their choosing. Today, Robert retreats into the capsule, seeking comfort in the one thing that brings him peace: a field of flowers bathed in sunshine, with Y/N, the woman who's been on his mind for longer than he can admit.

Inside the simulation, the capsule projects the vibrant, golden hues of an endless flower field. The warmth of the sun feels real, and the air is thick with the sweet scent of blossoms. He imagines Y/N standing beside him, her laughter soft as she runs her fingers through the petals. Her smile radiates like the sun itself, and in this perfect moment, Robert can't help but tell her how he feels.

"I love you," she says in the dreamlike landscape, and he replies with a gentle, almost shy, confession of his own. They fall together into the grass, and he kisses her, feeling the weight of the real world slip away.Unbeknownst to Robert, Y/N happens to enter the control room at that exact moment. She watches in stunned silence as the scene unfolds on the monitors, the glowing image of the flower field reflecting in her eyes. Confused and intrigued, she turns to the crew member managing the simulation.

"Why did you program that for him?" she asks, her voice barely above a whisper. The crew member looks up from his station, shrugging nonchalantly.

"I didn't. I just activated the capsule. He programmed that for himself."

Y/N's eyes widen. She watches as Robert's vitals spike, his heart rate climbing higher with every second spent in the illusion. Worried, the crew member makes the call to turn off the simulation. The vivid landscape flickers, then disappears, leaving Robert blinking as the real world returns to him in the sterile interior of the capsule. He steps out, still dazed, his heart pounding in his chest. His voice is laced with frustration as he confronts the crew member.

"Why did you turn it off?"But as his gaze shifts, his words falter. Standing nearby is Y/N, her expression unreadable, caught between surprise and something else he can't quite place. His heart skips, and suddenly, all the warmth and vulnerability of his dream flood back, and he realizes she's seen everything.

"I... I can explain," he says, his mind racing.

Y/N smiles softly, her voice gentle as she tries to ease his panic. "When we get back home to Earth, we could actually go on a picnic, you know. Just like that."

A wave of disbelief washes over him, but then the joy takes hold. He can't help but grin, his usually composed exterior breaking into a boyish, radiant smile. "I would love that."

For a moment, the awkwardness between them melts away, and he can feel the possibility of something more, something real. But there's still a question hanging in the air, and Y/N asks it quietly, her curiosity piqued by what she'd witnessed.

"Why me?"He chuckles nervously, rubbing the back of his neck. "Why you?" he repeats, as though the answer is obvious. "Have you looked at yourself? I've had a crush on you forever, since the day we started training for this mission. You're so smart and kind, so incredibly beautiful and strong. I couldn't help it."

For a second, Y/N says nothing, her expression thoughtful as she processes his words. Then, slowly, she reaches up, gently tilting his chin so that their eyes meet. She leans in and presses a soft kiss to his lips, brief, but full of promise.

When she pulls away, there's a playful glint in her eye. "Get back to work, Capa," she teases lightly before returning to her station.

Robert stands there for a moment, his heart still racing, but for an entirely different reason. As he watches her walk away, he realizes that for the first time in a long time, the weight of the mission feels a little lighter. There's hope for them—not just for saving the sun, but for whatever comes after. And for now, that's more than enough.
