(Y/N), (Y/N), (Y/N). Her name echoed in his mind, like a boomerang that kept returning no matter how hard he tried to push it away. It wasn't like he was being a creep or anything—he just couldn't stop thinking about what she did. No one had ever stood up for him like that. His own team, his brothers, had offered plenty of times, but in the end, they never did. And even if they had, it would've been because they knew him, knew he was more than Lord's Garmadon son, they were his friends.

But (Y/N)? She had no idea who he really was. She stood up for him out of the goodness of her heart. Sure, she knew his father's name—who didn't? But that didn't stop her from standing up for him, from stepping in and getting a black eye in the process. All for him.

Lloyd Garmadon.

A strange sense of destiny tugged at him as he thought about it. She didn't know him, yet she chose to protect him, and that alone left him feeling a mix of awe and confusion. Why would anyone do that?

Sighing, he let his mind drift back to the first time he saw her. It was late, or rather early—1:21 a.m. to be exact—and there she was, walking the empty streets of Ninjago City. Her (H/C) hair swayed with each step, catching the faint glow of the streetlights. Sure, wandering around the city at that hour wasn't exactly smart, but something about her intrigued him. What was it? Was it her unfamiliar face? The fluffy Disney pyjamas she wore, as if she hadn't planned to be out at all? Or maybe it was the stressed look on her face, like the weight of the world was pressing down on her shoulders. He couldn't pinpoint exactly what drew him in.

"Hey, Lloyd, are you even listening?" Kai's voice snapped him back to reality. The Fire Ninja stood beside him, arms crossed, looking impatient.

Lloyd blinked, quickly turning to face him, grateful for the green mask that hid the heat rising in his cheeks. He'd let his mind wander—again. "Yeah, sorry, what did you say?"

Kai rolled his eyes. "I said I'm heading south. This area's clear. If anything comes up, try to get your head out of the clouds and let us know, alright?"

Lloyd grimaced, embarrassed that his thoughts about a stranger had distracted him from his job. "Got it."

With that, Kai vanished into the night, his figure a blur as he leapt from rooftop to rooftop, leaving Lloyd alone on the edge of a building. The quiet of the city seemed to settle in around him, but something kept him rooted to the spot. He was about to move north, to continue his patrol as planned, when his gaze was drawn back to the street below. There she was. A lone figure, moving steadily, completely unaware of the danger looming ahead.

Lloyd's heart skipped a beat when he realised where she was heading—Avenue Road. His chest tightened. That part of the city was notorious for attacks, especially late at night. He stood there for a moment, torn between duty and something deeper—a gnawing instinct telling him not to let her walk into danger. She wasn't part of his mission. She was just a stranger. But still, something wouldn't let him turn away.

With a quiet sigh, he decided to follow her, staying in the shadows as he moved across the rooftops, his every step silent, precise. He kept his eyes trained on her, watching the way her (H/C) hair swayed gently with her movements, oblivious to the threat that lurked around the corner.

Then, it happened.

A man emerged from the shadows, grabbing her roughly by the arm and pulling her into a nearby alley. Lloyd's pulse quickened, he felt his muscles tensing as he prepared to jump down and intervene. But before he could move, something unexpected stopped him in his tracks.

She didn't freeze. She didn't panic. Instead, she snapped to life, her exhaustion melting away in an instant. With a force that surprised even Lloyd, she swung her head forward and slammed it into her attacker's face. The sound of bone meeting bone echoed through the narrow alley, and the man staggered back, clutching his nose in shock.
