A Rescue Mission

"Ginny! It's too early," you yawned quietly, refusing to open your eyes after you just got very rudely shaken awake. Today was the first day back at Hogwarts. You let out a long sigh as you rolled onto your back and pulled your F/C blanket over your eyes, desperate to just get a few more minutes rest...

You heard a low, quiet chuckle from outside your blanket and your very tired eyes shot open. That did not sound like Ginny. Without a second thought, you sat up and threw a punch in the direction of the definitely-not-Ginny voice. You missed by a few centimetres, and thank goodness too, because it was just Fred. He laughed quietly again, staring at your outstretched fist.

"Oi," he chuckled.

"Oh," you mumbled, "it's just you." You rubbed your hand over the side of your face, your eyes squinting in the very early morning darkness. You looked over your shoulder to the little snitch-shaped alarm clock that sat on Ginny's bed side table. It was 4:00am. You groaned,

"what do you want, Fred? It's 4 in the morning."

Fred grinned, "I can read clocks believe it or not. But come on, get up, we're going to rescue Harry."

You paused, very confused. What on Earth was he talking about? "What?" You said, yawning again. George appeared in the open doorway and tiptoed in, as to not wake his little sister, who was still sound asleep, snoring away.

"Why does she get to sleep and I don't?" You moaned, still very confused. George and Fred both chuckled.

"We're gonna go rescue Harry," George said, like that explained everything. You threw your pillow at his head.

"What do you mean we're going to rescue Harry?" You were so tired you wanted to cry. This was ridiculous, whatever they were going to yap about, you'd simply refuse and go back to sleep.

George spoke again, "Ron's been writing to him all summer and hasn't heard a thing. He decided to wait until now to tell us that Harry's Uncle and Aunt are right gits and keep him locked in a cupboard. Ron's worried and so are we." You blinked.

"Right, let's go then," you jumped up without a moment's hesitation, grabbing your wand and a pair of socks. Fred chuckled.

"Do you want to get dressed first?" He teased, looking at your plaid shorts and very old and wrinkled t-shirt. You could feel that your hair was a right state too. You quickly grabbed a hair pin that sat on top of the dresser and shoved it against the strands of hair that hung over your eyes before turning back to Fred.

"Nope," you said clearly, and quietly walked out of the bedroom. Ron was waiting at the top of the stairs, a worried but slightly excited expression on his round face. "Alright, Ron?" You asked, throwing an arm around the boy who, despite being two years younger than you, was almost taller than you. None of you wanted to risk waking anyone up by turning on a light, so you had to shuffle in the darkness around the very cluttered living room. You suddenly realised that you hadn't asked the most important question,

"Um, how are we getting there?" You whispered to quite possibly the wall. George was the first to reply,

"The car, obviously. Remember, Dad messed with it, so it can fly now."

"Oh, right, yes, obviously," you grumbled, shuffling forward to find the door. You walked into a plant plot, and flipped straight over it, landing flat on your arse. The scuffled noise of your fall sent the three boys into a very hushed round of laughter. "Ouch," you said groggily. One of the twins carefully walked over to you and put their hand out to find you in the dark.

"Watch where you put that hand!" You hissed quietly.

Fred laughed quietly, and you suddenly realised how close he was to you. Although you couldn't see his face, you felt the warmth of his breath as he chuckled. The realisation of his proximity caused your cheeks to flush very aggressively, and you were suddenly very thankful for the utter darkness. Fred reached his hands out again, this time finding your shoulder and your knee, and he said, "I'm gonna carry you out of the room, I don't think Mum will be happy if she wakes up to you having smashed the entire living room. Is that okay?"
