Days passed and Ryota found himself thinking about that Saturday more than he wanted to. He'd be in class, bored out of his mind in a lecture, and a memory would pop up in his head: the slight hint of a smile on that usually stern face, the way she'd frowned at the mention of vegetables, the bag of panda cookies.
It was a random bunch of stupid things that he had no reason to remember, but he couldn't help but recall them at the most random times. He tried to push the thoughts away but they were strangely persistent.
Rei Tsuki truly was a very odd girl...
Rei, on the other hand, was back to focusing on her studies, like usual. She would be buried in her notes, or her nose in a textbook, or writing an essay until later hours of the night. And yet, every now and then, a memory would come back. Her eyes would flick to an empty seat at some class, or a memory of a sarcastic remark and a scoff would make a corner of her mouth twitch. Ryota Saito, the most annoying, defiant, obnoxious person she had ever met, and yet one that refused to get out of her head.
God, what a handful. He had an even worse resting face than her, always being loud, uniform wrinkled and dirty, swearing like a sailor and scoffing like an angry dog...
