As Jungkook accepted Jennie's number with a wide grin, Taehyung tried his best to maintain a neutral expression, but his eyes betrayed his irritation.
The other boys noticed how close Jungkook and Jennie were becoming. Hoseok, Jimin, and Namjoon exchanged knowing glances, clearly amused by the unfolding situation. Yoongi, as usual, stayed more reserved and observed silently.
The next day, Taehyung found himself working on a project. His mind, however, was preoccupied with Jungkook and Jennie. He kept thinking about how they had ended up exchanging numbers at the nightclub, and it bothered him more than it should.
Taehyung tried to focus on his work, but the thoughts just wouldn't go away. He couldn't shake the feeling of jealousy that had reared its head the previous night., he couldn't help but question himself. Why was he feeling so jealous about Jennie and Jungkook exchanging numbers? It shouldn't bother him so much. After all, he was in a committed relationship with Irene, a beautiful and successful woman.
He tried to rationalize his feelings, telling himself that he was just worried about Jennie getting hurt. But deep down, he knew there was more to it.
Jungkook's pov
Jungkook couldn't help but feel a sense of triumph. He had not only managed to charm Jennie at the nightclub, but he had also exchanged numbers with her. After the interaction, he couldn't stop thinking about Jennie. He found her fascinating and wanted to get to know her more.
Jungkook was determined to take the next step with Jennie. He couldn't stop thinking about her, and he wanted more than just a simple phone conversation. So, he decided to ask her out on a date.
He spent the morning contemplating how to approach the subject. He didn't want to come off too strong and scare her away, but he also didn't want to beat around the bush. After a bit of deliberating, he finally mustered up the courage to type out the text.
"Hey Jennie, I really enjoyed talking to you last night. Would you like to go out for coffee sometime this week
Jennie had been focused on her work when Jungkook's text interrupted her flow. She quickly read his message and felt a mixture of excitement and a hint of nervousness. Their coffee date was confirmed, and it would be the first time they'd meet alone outside the group setting. She typed a quick reply. "Yes, we're still on for coffee tomorrow. I'm looking forward to it as well."
As soon as he saw the notification of Jennie's reply, Jungkook couldn't help but smile. She had agreed to meet him for coffee, and he was thrilled.
He took a moment to gather his thoughts, trying to quell any nerves. He didn't want to come off as too eager, but he was genuinely excited about this date.
He began typing a reply. "Great, I'm glad it's still on. See you tomorrow."
Taehyung's pov
Taehyung was intently focused on his work in the office when he heard his phone vibrate. He picked it up and saw a text message from Jungkook. As he read the message, his heart skipped a beat, and a pang of unease washed over him.
"Hey Tae, good news! I just asked Jennie out on a date, and she said yes."
Taehyung's heart sank further as he read Jungkook's message. He couldn't believe that his best friend had asked Jennie out on a date.
He sat there for a moment, frozen, feeling a mix of disbelief.
Why did this bother him so much? He had no claim over Jennie, and Jungkook was free to pursue whoever he wanted. Yet, the thought of them together gnawed away at him.Taehyung took a deep breath before replying to Jungkook's text. He composed himself and tried to sound casual despite the turmoil in his heart.
"Oh, that's great! Congrats, man. Jennie's a great girl. I hope you two have a great time together."
Taehyung couldn't help but ask Jungkook about the date. He needed to know when it was happening so he could mentally prepare himself.
"When are you two going out?" he typed, trying to sound nonchalant.
Jungkook, unaware of Taehyung's inner turmoil, happily responded, "We're going out for coffee tomorrow afternoon. I really can't wait."
Taehyung clenched his fist as he read Jungkook's reply. Tomorrow afternoon. That was much sooner than he had expected.
His mind began to race with anxious thoughts. Jennie, the object of his desire, was going out with his best friend. How was he supposed to handle seeing them together?
The next day arrived, and Taehyung found himself feeling incredibly anxious. He knew that Jungkook and Jennie were meeting for their date that afternoon. As much as he tried to push these thoughts out of his mind, he couldn't stop thinking about it.
He spent the morning trying to distract himself, but every time he glanced at the clock, he was reminded of the fact that Jungkook and Jennie were going to be spending time alone together.
Taehyung made his way to Irene's house, hoping to find a distraction from his thoughts. He needed to be with someone who would understand him and help him make sense of the confusing feelings he was experiencing.
When he arrived at Irene's place, he knocked on the door and waited for her to answer.
Irene heard the knock on the door and immediately recognized it as Taehyung's. She hurried to answer the door, surprised to see him there.
"Hey, Tae," she said, a warm smile on her face. "This is a surprise. What brings you here?"
The kiss caught Irene off guard, but she didn't resist. She could sense the desperation and need behind it and knew that Taehyung was going through something.
An act of physical pleasure and a search for comfort and connection.
Afterwards, they lay in bed together, Taehyung's head resting on Irene's shoulder. He felt a sense of relief and comfort in her presence, but the thoughts and feelings he'd been experiencing regarding Jungkook and Jennie still lingered.
Meanwhile, Jungkook was getting ready for his date with Jennie. He was excited yet nervous, wanting to make a good impression. After putting on his favorite outfit, he made his way to Jennie's apartment to pick her up.
As he entered the building and waited for her to answer the door, he couldn't help but feel a mix of anticipation and anxiousness.
Jennie was just finishing getting ready when she heard the doorbell rang. She checked her appearance in the mirror one last time before heading to the door.
When she opened it, she saw Jungkook standing there, looking sharp in his outfit. He greeted her with a warm smile.
"Hi Jennie, you look beautiful," he said, his eyes scanning her from head to toe.
Jennie blushed at Jungkook's compliment, feeling a little flustered. "Thanks," she replied, returning his smile. "You look great too."
They stood there for a moment, awkwardly smiling at each other, until Jungkook broke the silence.
"So, you ready to go?" he asked, holding out his hand for her to take.
