Chapter 11 : Picken on the wrong town

I slowly got up from the spot that I was watching Sookies house last night. I felt like something bad was going to happen so I stayed all night and most of the morning. I shift back and put my old clothes that I had on last night and walked up to Sookies door. Of course Sookie answered the door all cheery and well slept. She took a look at me and asked if I had a rough night. I mumbled out do you have any coffee that could have since Ive been in my wolf form all night watching her house. She nods and says come in when I walk in the door the most wonderful scent of sausage and eggs and biscuits fill my nose and I see Gran smiling while holding a fry pan. "Aria come on in and get something to eat." I nodded and sat at the table and sookie and I was talking when Tara enters the home "Good Morning Mrs. Stackhouse." She greeted cheery. She looks at me and said "Did you have a rough night Aria?" I chuckled and said "something like that." Sookie said to Tara and me yes both of you can take a shower and borrow some of my clothes and Aria I can give you a ride into work." I said thank you and looked at the food on my plate and I started eating when I heard a pickup truck drive into the dirt driveway. Jason comes in and kisses Gran on the cheek " How is my favorite girl?" Gran replied good and that he should sit down and have some breakfast that he must be starving. He of coarse sits next to me and said "Aren't you a ball of sunshine this morning?" I laughed sarcastically and took a drink of coffee while I was doing that he took some sausage off of my plate. I gasp dramatically and said "Jason Stackhouse you better give me back my food." He replied if you want to fit inside of a bikini that I needed to cut back on food." I know he meant it sarcastically so I playfully punch him on the arm which caused him to grab ahold of my chair and pull me closer and kissed me on my cheek. I was smiling and playfully wiping my face where he kissed me and said "Oh I got Jason cooties" and pushed his smug face away. This caused him to get up and chase me around the house I ran up to Sookies room to go shower. Jason followed me up to the room tickling me and I said "Jason Stackhouse what a pervert following a woman up to your sister's room when she is trying to take a shower and don't you have a girlfriend who I work with." I push him out of the room and locked the door so I could shower in peace when I felt something bad happen I threw on sookies clothing and ran down when Sookie said I went to high school with Maudette Pickens. My stomach dropped and I asked what happened. Sookie told me that gran had a phone call that Maudette was dead. I gasp and I put my hands over my mouth in shock. I also noticed a guilty expression on Jasons face and he slid his chair and went to leave when Sookie calls out to him. I follow behind her and she looks into Jason mind I decided to listen in too. In his mind he was saying that he killed Maudette Pickens and I had a visual of them having sex and he took it too far and it cut off before being able to finish the vision. I knew deep down that something bad was going to happen and I just knew deep down that something might happen to Sookie so I made up my mind that I will be keeping a watchful eye on Sookie if she knew it or not.

~Time skip~
I was staying by Sookie's side until our shift that started at 5pm. We were all dressed up in our uniforms and Sookie was doing her makeup and asked if I wanted any so I put some lipstick on and was waiting for her to finish so we could go to work. We get there and Sam looks at me and I made a silly face at him to change his face from angry to a little bit of happy and so I wasn't in trouble yet he still asked me to come into his office to have a talk. Sam closes the door and turns and asks me "Where have you been you were suppose to be here the last two nights and Sookie had to pick up your shifts." I scratch my arm looking up at him "Umm well I was sick and dealing with some things." Of course Sam being so caring offered me a hug and asked if everything was alright which I said of course if I was in real danger I would let you know. Well I should get back out there the tables are not going to be waiting on themselves. When I walked out everyone was talking about Maudette Pickens and it bothered me that everyone was so nosey. I heard someone call her a "fang-banger" which confused me and I listened to Jason say how girls get paid to be hookers for vampires 10,000 each time meanwhile I had to bust my ass for 10 dollars an hour plus tips. I scoffed and walked away and I saw Bill standing by a table and Sookie practically bouncing on her heels over to him. When I walked by he said what happend why is everyone at Merlottes and I sighed and walked over to Layfette talking to him about how everything is going. When Sookie came up with a order Layfette called her "a porn star with that tan and that makeup and said do you have a date tonight." I laughed at how innocent Sookie was and Arlene comes up and asked what we were talking about and Layfette said we all know men are scared about whats between a woman's legs. He even got Big John into the conversation and Dawn walks up and and heard the conversation and she grab ketchup and mustard saying something along the lines "like you can watch it walk away and it will make you want to smack it." Arlene joins in by saying "Peaches and cream baby!" I snuck up to her and smacked her butt and walked up to Dawn and pinched her butt she giggled and said "Aria Black get your cute butt back over here" and I walked away pretending that I didn't do anything and I was innocent I put my hands up in surrender. We finished our shift giggling and laughing about how everyone but Sookie were flirting with each other. Tara was laughing behind the bar.

When the restaurant was closing we counted our tips and I was hanging out by the bar with Tara and Dawn and Jason came in. Dawn whispers to me "want to see something funny watch this" I nodded and Dawn walks behind Jason and of course he took the bait grabbing onto Dawn like she was his lifeline and he asked "Do you want to go somewhere?" Dawn nods and said "Umm I want to go home Jason" I noticed how Tara looked at Dawn and Jason and I had that same look jealousy and wanting something thats not hers. Dawn turns and said goodnight to Tara and me. Jason throws down a twenty for a beer and said good night to Tara and me and he followed after Dawn like a puppy in love. I went back to counting my tips 100 dollars not bad and I waited for Sookie to finish and we went back to her house. I was so exhausted that I ended falling asleep on Grans couch and Sookie placed a blanket on me and went to bed.
