Chapter 18: When the hunter becomes the hunted

Ever had a feeling that something bad is going to happen and something does? Well thats how Aria felt when she woke up after having a long night she felt like something was going to happen to Sookie and she needed to protect her at all cost.

She was unaware that Sookie was almost attacked by a killer last night but Sam and Bill saved her from the attacker but they didn't catch them. She got out of the bed and threw on her clothes and she called a taxi Sookie's house but when she arrived Sookie wasn't at home and her car was gone. She ran inside and the scent of Sookie was very faint so she grabbed her phone and called the bar only for Sam to pick up the phone.

"Hello Merlottes"
"Sam its Aria have you seen Sookie at all?"
"Yeah she is working an extra shift this afternoon."
"Sam listen to me I feel like something bad is going to happen to Sookie keep an eye on her please don't let her come home alone."
"Okay I will did Sookie tell you what happened last night?"
"No what happened last night?"
"The killer tried to hurt Sookie but they took off before I could get a look or a good enough scent."
"Well Sookie should be done in 30 minutes so no matter what keep an eye out for me and if you cant find her come to her house."
Aria hung up the cellphone and was nervously pacing the kitchen and living room waiting for Sookie to come home from work.

She heard a large truck and was confused because Sookie's car doesn't sound like that and it doesn't have the humming of Sam's bronco. She sat in the kitchen waiting for her to come in but she heard another voice Rene. She lets out a low growl and waits for the door to open and Sookie comes in with Rene behind her. "Hey Sookie what happened to your car?" Sookie said "the battery wouldn't work" which was a weird coincidence that Rene was there to offer her a ride home. Not wanting Rene around Sookie or her she said that they had to go visit a friend that just came into town. But Sookie being to polite offered Rene some tea and asked how he liked it and he said sweet and thats when Aria reads his mind of him crying with gloves on saying "Fang-banger" this made Aria tense up and so did Sookie but she dropped the pitcher of Sweet tea on the floor and said she had to get a mop to clean it up. She grabbed the shot gun and pointed it at Rene and she went to shoot and there were no bullets in the gun and Rene held out the bullets as if to mock Sookie.

So I took the gun and hit Rene in the head with the gun causing it to break in half and told Sookie to run and I was behind her. We ran into the cemetery and I told Sookie to hide and all I could see were visions of Rene strangling his victims and I saw Dawn and all I could see is red. Before I made my move Sam came up and bit Rene but he took a shovel and hit him on the head. So I tackled Rene and he was getting up he jumped on top of me and started strangling me and all I saw was red. I punched him in the face and shoved him off and I was beyond pissed with all the innocent lives he had taken I shifted into my wolf and lunged at his scratching his face I stood on top of him and I was mauling his face off until he was unrecognizable. He stopped breathing and I was still ripping him to shreds when Sookie called out "Aria stop it he is dead already." I turn and look and see fear in Sookies eyes with me hunting down the murder and I drag his body into a unmarked grave and dropped his body and walked up to Sam and nuzzled him to wake him back up when he got back up we all realize that there was a crispy Bill laying out in the sun. So they bring him to the unmarked grave and buried both Rene and Bill and hoped that he would be all better after sunset. Aria shifted back to her human form and had blood all down her mouth to her chest. She was disappointed in herself that Sookie was now afraid of her because she lost control and ripped Rene apart in-front of her she starts walking away from Sam and Sookie walking into the woods.

She ended up shifting and running away from Sookie and ended up waiting in the woods by Fangtasia waiting for it to become dark. When it finally became dark she shifted back into clothes and walked right into Fangtasia and sat at the bar nursing a glass of bourbon. She had some dry blood on her mouth and Long-shadow came up to her asking if she found Mary Bo peep and her sheep she shot him a look and told him to keep the bourbon coming and stop asking her dumb questions.

She was sitting at the bar for 5 minutes and Eric came from his office and saw his little wolf sitting at his bar and it made him feel pride that she came back to see him. Then he walked closer and smelled the blood and saw her face with some dried blood on it this caused him to hug his little wolf and pick her up with her head on his chest and her arms around his neck.

He walked into his office and sat in his chair with the little wolf sitting on his lap she didn't say anything or even look up she was holding onto him tight. Eric moved his hand to lift up her chin so she would look at him. "What happened my little wolf?" She looks him straight in the face and said "I killed her friend's murderous boyfriend who tried to kill Sookie." He grasps her face inspecting her of any injury not seeing a scratch he summons Pam to come in with a warm wash cloth and he wipes the blood off of her face and chest. She looked at Eric and said "I couldn't stop ripping him to shreds he killed one of my friend and he murdered Gran and I couldn't stop myself until I couldn't recognize his face after I was done." He nods and said "I understand you do not have to explain yourself to me Little one. "You feel protective of Sookie and he tried to hurt her and killed her Grandma you had every right to rip his face off and I am proud of you." She nods and looks down at her clothes and said "I am sorry I got your shirt bloody with my face and my clothes." He kisses her on her mouth and she suddenly forgot why she was worked up but she pushes him away softly. Eric I just murdered someone and you are kissing me after I told you I ripped his face off and you're acting like this is normal."  He chuckles and stands up placing her on top of his desk.

He grabs her one of his shirts and grabs a spare for him and he takes his shirt off. "Darling you do realize that you are talking to an old viking vampire that has killed more people." "I lost count over the years it doesn't bother me at all that you murdered a killer." She looks at him and tells him that she is a monster and tries to walk away from him. He picks her up and places her on his lap on his couch and changes her clothes that were covered in blood while saying "Darling you are not a monster."

After he said that she snuggled her head against him and she ended up falling asleep laying on the one person who didn't judge her because of what she did to protect the ones she loves. Eric ended picking her up and moving from the couch to his chair so he could get some work done while his little wolf slept peacefully on his lap.  While thinking about how sexy his little wolf looked like with blood on her face and how beautiful she looked while she was snuggling into his chest.

Pam walked in to Eric office to see if Aria was okay and she laughed when she saw her passed out on Erics lap sleeping peacefully. She asked Eric if he needed anything and he nodded his head no. Pam laughed and said that Aria is making him become a big ole softie.

After some time later Eric picked up the sleeping wolf and took her down stairs to the bedroom where he ended up snuggling her to his chest so he could get some sleep. But before he could sleep Arias phone went off and Eric answered it.

"Aria are you there where are you?" Sookies voice calls out this caused Eric to chuckle.
"Hello Ms. Stackhouse but Aria is a little preoccupied" Eric smug voice said
"Is she okay what did you do to her?" Sookie demanded
He laughs "She is sleeping peacefully right now if you want you can call her tomorrow but right now you are not allowed to wake up my little wolf." He hung up the phone and snuggled his wolf placing her head on his chest.
