I groaned a little as my eyes fluttered open. I hadn't slept that good in days. I looked out the window at the lake and woods.

WAIT lake...there is no lake at the Riddle mansion I sat up looking around. Memories of last night came flying back. I started panicking. What time is it? I looked at the analog clock by my bedside.

12:15 fuck me I'm dead. I sprang out of bed. I was dressed in a T-shirt and boxers. I recognized the shirt as Enzos. I found my clothes from last night and hurriedly put them on before rushing downstairs.

"Morning bells," dad called. "I have to go now," I said, giving him a hug and then Mumsie who was sitting next to him. "Why," she was clearly confused.

I hesitated for a second. "No one knows I came to see you guys. I told Tom I was heading to bed early. I was planning on leaving last night. I just fell asleep," I told them the look of shock and panic on their faces telling me all I needed to know.

"Ok, you need to hurry and hope Tom hasn't noticed," Mumsie said, giving me another hug.

"Here if you need a little liquid courage," Dad said, handing me a bottle of straight tequila. I gave him a hug before opening the bottle and taking a swig.

"Charles, don't give the girl straight alcohol she needs to leave", Mumsie scolded.

"I have to go. Bye I love you both," I called before using the void to appear in my room. I didn't bother looking around my room, I just headed straight for the door opening it. Shit, I said to myself. I could've sworn I locked it but the door swung right open. I peeped out curiously. I heard voices downstairs.

Yup, I'm dead I thought to myself before I looked at the bottle in my hands. "Thanks, Dad," I murmured before downing the rest of the bottle. I felt the burning sensation as it ran down my throat.

I walked towards the stairs and saw Tom sitting on an armchair in the seating area by the foyer. I couldn't see the other couches but it was quiet so I assumed he was alone.

"Morning Tom," I made my voice sound cheerful trying to hide the panic eating at me on the inside. I was starting to feel the effects of the damn alcohol and my brain felt a little fuzzy.

He looked up, fixing me with an emotionless stare that sent chills down my spine. "How'd you sleep?" he asked in a mocking voice. This mother fucker definitely knew I wasn't here last night.

"Great. How about you?" I asked in the same mocking tone he used on me. He raised an eyebrow and sent me a glare.

"Don't use that tone of voice with me," he said, his voice dark and threatening. I chuckled, causing him to raise his eyebrow even more if that was possible.

"Or what," I teased. I froze the horror clear on my face at what I just said. That was definitely the alcohol talking.

"Are you drunk," he asked in bewilderment and anger at the look on my face. "No...ok maybe just a little teeny tiny bit so that I didn't die sober when I realized I didn't come back last night," I said struggling to form words as I leaned against the banister not trusting my feet to safely bring me down the stairs.

"Teesy," I called and the little elf appeared next to me. "Will you please go get me some water?"I asked her before she nodded and disappeared with a pop coming back a moment later with a water bottle. I downed it and began walking down the stairs till I was at the bottom one sitting down there.

"How did you know I was gone, Tom," I asked. I mean I knew I would have to explain not waking up because I'm positive he would've tried
to get into my room but he straight up knew.
