TRIGGER WARNINGS:
INJURIES FROM SELF INJURING BEHAVOURS-----_-----
Y/n's Pov
I find myself sitting on the small couch, my mind wandering, still trying to wrap my head around the unlikely series of events that led me to sitting here.
I reach into my pocket for my phone, giving my hands something to do open the puzzle game that I have come to love. It opens to a half finished crossword. Puzzles my whole life had been a weird relationship, my dyslexic arse can't spell for shit, and yet these puzzles seem to act as a good distraction. I get to work finishing the half finished one and as I began to start a new one the door cracks open to reveal Aaron with his hands full of miscellaneous items.
"You ready to go?" Aaron asks putting the items gently down on the coffee table.
"Yeah sure," I say getting up off of the couch, waiting as Aaron puts his laptop in his bag before slinging it over his shoulder.
"Follow me, I am going to make this place even more confusing for you as we are about to leave out the back door that leads us out to 44th Street and away from the crouds." Aaron says leading me through a maze of hall ways. "Oh shit, sorry am I walking to fast for you. Tell me to slow down if you need it. I tend to get carried away."
"No your fine, I've just been on my feet all-day, but who am I to complain after watching that." I say picking up to match Aaron's pace.
"You get used to it eventually. That and the extreme cafine consumption." Even as you start to keep up, you notice Aaron slowing down slightly. "Here is the back door."
He opens the door which leads to a well lit alley. "I know it looks bad, but it's pretty safe around here. Especially at this time, it's all just theatre nerds leaving from their shows." Aaron jokes as he pulls his cap down slightly. "So which way are you headed?"
"Down 9th up to 48th Street."
"Damn you are close, it's pretty good living around here, can do a lot of things without much travel."
"Yeah it's nice, a shitty studio apartment, but it's good. Homey, plus it's pet friendly, would have been a deal breaker if it wasn't."
"Pets huh, animal person?" Aaron inquires.
"Yeah, sad it is such a small place, not really appropriate for a dog, but my little guys Henry is good company."
"Please tell me cat and not like a lizard or anything?"
"Haha, yeah. Thinks he is a dog and that he owns the house, but he is my guy, been with me since I moved out here."
"You can't just leave me like that. I need pictures. Surely you have some."
I pull out my phone, my screensaver being of him sleeping in my plant pot, the plant with obvious bite marks.
Aaron just looks at it and laughs. The kind of laugh that you can see in his eyes, his mouth moving into a smile.
"That's Henry for you..." I begin to say before Aaron cuts me off.
"Is your hand alright there? He asks as he stops in his tracks. "It looked a bit messed up."
"Yeah it's fine." I saying trying to brush him off. "As I said, I just hit it on something." I try to continue walking, Aaron seeming not willing to move.
"It doesn't look like that." Conern seeping into his voice. Slowing walking to catch up to you. The tone of the conversation completely different now. "Do you mind if I have a look?"
"As I said, it's fine. I'm fine." I reply trying to put on a smile for him. "Anyway, what about yourself, have any animals?"
Please don't see through this seemless transition.

Aaron's POV
"Yeah, I have a labradoodle Miles." I hesitate, still not satisfied with their reply. "He is the best buddy a guy could ask for. Love the guy to death." I begin to slow as we approach my station.
"Oh I must see."
We stand at the top of the stairs as I search through my phone for a picture of him. "Here he is." I say showing a picture of him splayed acrossed the living room floor.
"He has the saddest eyes, awe baby."
"I know. How rude of me was it that I moved and dare take a picture of him as he relaxed?" I scoff. "Anyway, this is me. It means a lot that you came tonight. It was good to see you again."
"What a day huh, a new face around. It was an amazing show though, you and everyone should be really proud."
"Thanks. Let me know when you get home okay?" I ask, I knowing that it is only another block up. "And we will have to hang out again, maybe not after both of us have worked a full day and who are completely focused on getting home to bed."
"That would be nice. And I will let you know. Who knows what could happen in a block you know. Crazy stuff happens around here," Y/n jokes
"You never know. Anyway, I have got to head off. See you soon though okay?"
