13. The Magnificent Five

Jebediah and Grace, in the hills below the town, they setting up their equipments to receive singularity with the future.
"Grace, hold on. The future people will soon be here!"
Grace holding a steel bar of the circular machinery, an Orb with electrical sparks are in the middle of it.
"I wonder how they look like. Its very exciting."

"Yeah, true." Jebediah uses an Orb on his chest, "Alright, we are connected now...I think?"

"Pa, are you sure?"

"Let's wait."

Suddenly an electrical spark forming in a burnt circle on the ground, a light blooms slowly in blue-ish color. As the machine stops whirring and buzzing, the Orb spinning slowly, the machine become stabilized. Then, a burst of light blooms. Shadows of five people standing can be seen, and when the lights fades, they can finally be seen.
Jebediah and Grace was stunned, and at the same time confused.
Vertin, Sonetto, Pavia, Bkornblume, Sotheby and two masked agents are there.
Jebediah asking to Pavia.
"So you are from the future?"

"Uh..."Pavia backing out, "Speak to that kid."

Vertin then came forward and meet Jebediah eye to eye.
"Good day, mister. Forgive us, but are you the one who met our friend? A woman in red jacket and a wide brim."

"Uh yeah. The scammer lady."

"Oh...so you know her well..."

"Well, I didn't expect that you are all uh...just kids...?"

Sonetto then say, "Sorry if we did not exceed your expectations, sir."

"Ah its nothing. Your lady friend, Tennant, said she will be in town sooner. But still no sign of her. Im afraid of the worst."

"Its burning hot here!" Sotheby exclaims, "I feel like my lungs will explode!"

Bkornblume then saw a small light blinking near a wooden rails in town.
"Diamond spotted. Ms.Tennant left it there. Its a rendezvous point. Shall we get there?"

"Commence recon." Vertin giving her command, "Pavia, will you do the same?"

"Yeah, sure. Interesante..."

Bkornblume and Pavia goes to the town, the two Foundation agents are protecting their area, while Vertin and the rest of the group stays for a little bit.
"So you are Jebediah?"Vertin asks him.

"Yes, young lady. This is my Daughter, Grace."

"Hi." She wave her hand, "Aren't you too young to...doing whatever this is?"

"Well...times changed I guess..." Vertin didn't want to answer that,
"At first, we are receiving a message from Eleanor Winders. Using the same frequency as the pantelegraph machine, we manage to open a portal...until it malfunction. Sending only one of us, Ms.Tennant, to venture here all alone without support. So, what can you tell me about Eleanor?"

Jebediah sighs a little, he sits down near the machine. "She was an Arcanist, say...one of the Gypsies. She's quite crafty and skilled when it comes to Black Magic."

"Black Magic?" Vertin surprised to hear it, while Sonetto quietly write all that information down.

Jeb continues, "Mostly in Hypnoticism, to Dominate its target."

Vertin looking at Sonetto with a little concern, then Vertin asking again. "How'd she died?"

"According to Ernesto, her husband, she was murdered by Wraith Gang. All because of his farm lands, its a nice patch of dirt for mining and train tracks. Damn Mayor...its all his fault."

"Where is Ernesto?"

"He was with Tenannt, they are on another town to finish off someone. They promised to be here shortly, but..."
