I watched my breath turn to an icy smoke as I let out long drags of the frozen air. My shoes would slightly slip upon the already frost covered paving. Winter. Already? With everything happening I kinda lost track of well... life. It was probably the first time I had left the flat is weeks. I felt my long black coat flick behind we as the wind would catch it, I buried my face more into its collar for warmth. Feeling happy, I was practically skipping into my sixth month of pregnancy. Ergh, the word still made me cringe. Although no coat thick enough can hide that now.
Lou was at work, so I had to make up for some time. I decided it was about time to visit Liam, besides, I hadn't talked to him in a few month. Or Niall... It seemed like I neglected them yet again. So, after a few confused stares on the bus, I stood at the door of my old work, Cherry on Top Bakery.
I pushed the door open with a familiar struggle. still haven't fixed the door I rolled my eyes.
The little bell rung from above as I stepped in. Instantly, I was hit by the same scent of pastries and sweet raspberries, although the smell still didn't agree with me, much like how I left it. I looked around, no one, only a muffled sound of plates clanging together. I dusted off my coat and wiped down my shoes on the mat underneath my feet.
"Be with you in a second, sorry!" A voice called from the back.
"Liam! come and greet your friend!" I called back. The clanging stopped. There was a light sound of feet patting and then Liam came through the double doors.
"Harry!" he exclaimed with a smile "sorry, I was just washing the breakfast's dishes"
I looked down to his hands which were dripping with water and bubbled covered the bottom of his arms. "I can see that" I replied.
"Oh yeah, excuse that" He wiped down his hands with the tea towel stuffed in his stained apron. "I haven't seen you in awhile" his smile faded.
"Yeah, you haven't" he said back less with relief but more in anger.
"Well your here now! You want a coffee- wait caffeine isn't good for the baby" I rolled my eyes again "Hot chocolate?" he offered
"Sounds great" my eyes followed him to the back again. I knew why he was so pissed.

He placed the hot drink on the table in front of me. I thanked him. Taking out the chair across from me, he swung it around and sat on it backwards. I chuckled at him as he sat his head down on the back of the chair and smiled showing off his one dimple.
"So..." I sipped my drink "what's it been like around here?"
"A bit quiet" he started "the others are beginning to miss you too" his smile faded again. I breathed out a long dragged breath.
"So you a Lou, hey" I already felt my checks blush with embarrassment.
"guess so-"
"I called it" he said proudly crossing his arms "like two years ago"
I shook my head and bit my lip.
There was a long pause for a second. "You didn't answer any of my texts". There it was.
"Liam-" I looked down at the swirls of the hot chocolate "it's been hectic"
"All I need was just one... just one text to at least tell me that you're okay"
My phone vibrated along the table in response displaying yet another ignored message.
Niall (23 new messages 5 missed calls)
Liam (19 new messages 6 missed calls)
