Girl Meets Flaws

Aiden had gotten suspended. He had gotten angry at one of his teammates and started a fight. He had decided to go to the middle school with his dad.

"Graduation and awards night is coming up. I am very proud of this class. Several of you will be recognized for your achievements throughout the year." Cory stands in front of the class. Maya stands up.

"Awards are a scam! A girl like me never had a chance, Matthews. Never had a chance." She stares at Riley.

"All right, I'll do it, but it's ridiculous." Riley stands up "It's a scam, Matthews! She never had a chance!"

"Maya will be receiving the griff Hawkins totally cool award." Cory tells them. Maya sits down.

"Maya, you just found out you won the totally cool award, yet you just sit there? Oh, you're being cool. Why won't you rub off on me?" Riley sighs. Cory (Walk towards Lucas 

"And our two finalists for the scholar athlete award are Lucas Friar" The class claps "and Billy Ross." The class claps again.

"I hope you're ready for some competition, dude." Billy says to Lucas.

"Oh, well, you know how I hate competition." They both laugh, lean in closer, lean back some and laugh, lean in closer again, lean back some again.

"Hey, golden boys, you wanna hop down from your cloud of awesomeness? You're making us normals feel bad." Maya says sarcastically.

"Yeah. Right after our handshake of awesomeness." Billy and Lucas stand up and do their handshake.

"Every day."

"Girls should have their own handshake of awesomeness." Riley speaks up.

"What would it be?" They both cross legs and flip hair. "Stop it." Billy and Lucas share a look.

"Farkle, you are being awarded the Joseph T.R. Epstein confidence award. Congratulations. Farkle?" Cory realizes Farkle is not at his desk. Aiden then looks confused, Farkle never misses class.

"Farkle can't come to his desk right now. If you have a question for Farkle, say, "one;" a comment, say, "two;" billing questions, "three."" a recording of Farkle's voice says.

"One. Where are you?" Cory asks.

"You have selected "three."" the recording says. Cory shakes his head.

"No, I said, "One.""

"Sorry, we are experiencing unusually high call volume. Your call will be answered in approximately..."

"Thirty-five," a man's voice comes through.

"Minutes." Farkle finishes off as a guitar plays.

"Representative! What is this? Farkle's never missed a class in his life." Aiden nods, knowing thats true. The bell rings, everyone stands up and exits except Maya and Riley, who walk up to Cory. "Yes?"

"Everybody's getting an award but me. What good is having you as my teacher if the fix ain't in?!" Aiden laughs at his sister.

"I'm sorry, Riley." Cory apologizes.

"Riley, you don't need a trophy to make you feel good about yourself." Maya tells her best friend.

"Yes, I do. Sometimes I feel kind of invisible." Suddenly, they all turn to Farkles desk when they hear his voice through the device."

"Sometimes you want to be invisible, Riley, believe me."

Lucas, Maya, Riley and Aiden all stand in the hallway, looking for Farkle.
