First came a warning hiss and when the kitten jumped out of the cocooned fabric, aiming for his face. Izuku yelped, overcome with instant regret for calling out so abruptly as clawed paws dug into his skin. He was sure to find some small gashes if he were to graze the sore spot later.
Izuku tried desperately to get the furry creature off of him, "K-Kacchan, it's me. Please stop—OUCH." The demonic being bit him in the nose and tears pricked at the corners of his eyes.
He pried the cat—Katsuki, presumably—off him, holding him directly in front of his face to try to grab its, his, attention by looking him straight in the eye.
It proved fruitless, however.
The cat was still squirming and clawing at Izuku's hands and arms, littering them in scratches and bloodied gashes. Izuku grimaced, "Ouch—would you—.. would you stop? Hey!" The cat—Katsuki— started violently wriggling in his hold as a means to escape, nearly slipping out of Izuku's grasp.
Izuku bit his bottom lip, pondering for a moment, before adjusting his hold on Katsuki to allow him some comfort. He slipped a hand underneath the ca—Katsuki's chest, supporting his weight with his other hand tucked beneath the cat's bum.
The hissing and growling quieted down, so Izuku figured he must be doing something right as he held the furry creature closer to his chest—trying with an effort to ignore the fact that it was initially Kacchan he was cradling in his arms
It was quiet now as the blond fur tickled his chin where he held cat-Katsuki close. With a soothing and rhythmic motion, Izuku rocked cat-Katsuki back and forth, calming the spiky animal down with the soft hum of his voice and cradled in his warm embrace.
The little creature was shivering. "How cute."
Its shut eyes twitched comfortably; Kacchan must be incredibly sleepy from the sudden shift in its bodily cells.
Izuku blinked when he realised whilst continuing to caress the cat's soft fur.
Not 'it' dammit!
His!
This is still Kacchan, after all, just in a different... format.
Izuku was good with animals, and he was good at handling Katsuki. He would be fine. They would figure this out, together.
Everything was going to be fine!

"This poses a problem," Aizawa said, his voice laced with seriousness and tension. Izuku blinked at the gravity of his tone, while All Might was laughing up a storm. Meanwhile, cat-Katsuki, perched atop Izuku's shoulder, was nibbling on the hairs above his ear, tail flicking back and forth—hitting Izuku in the face over and over.
He didn't mind, especially since the purrs of contentment vibrated against his ears—the small huffs and puffs of cat-Katsuki's breath tickling the tip of his ears.
Izuku fought the urge to giggle at how cute he was being and suspected the ease of comfortability had to do with cat-Katsuki tipping into actual cat-like behaviours. Perhaps being in this feline form had somehow subconsciously tuned him into the biological instincts of a cat.
He was so much like a cat already; Izuku wanted to laugh at the absurdity of the situation, but didn't out of caution that Katsuki was still aware of his human origins and wouldn't claw at his neck for laughing at him.
He had shown no signs to prove that statement, though—the guy was nibbling at Izuku's hair, for god's sake.
"I reckon this has to do with the Fruits Basket case popping up lately?" Izuku queried, raising an eyebrow. Aizawa sighed, "Please don't use that name, but yes. It does." All Might interjected, "We know this fiend has been trolling for a while now. They have a pattern, though."
