Bakugo's thoughts lingered on Deku even though his sister was his main focus. Did Deku really have feelings for him? The idea was absurd yet persistent.
Arisa had undeniably created an uncomfortable tension between Bakugo and Deku. While Bakugo remained the bully in their dynamic, their relationship had evolved into a peculiar mix of rivalry and camaraderie, often described as frenemies. Bakugo had never considered that Deku could harbor deeper feelings for him; he merely viewed Deku as overly attached, obsessing over heroes and quirks. As Bakugo sank into his thoughts, he found himself seated at his desk, inadvertently fixating on Deku for what felt like an eternity, unaware of how long he had been staring. The realization that Deku's feelings could be more than mere admiration began to dawn on him, leaving Bakugo in a state of confusion about how to navigate this new emotional territory.
"Bakugo!" Denki's voice broke through his reverie.
"What?" Bakugo snapped, irritation bubbling up again from being startled.
"Is your sister okay? Everyone's talking about the lunchroom fight," Denki said, concern lacing his tone.
"Can you just drop it? I don't want her to be the talk of the school," Bakugo retorted, his temper flaring.
"Too late for that..." Denki muttered, earning him a fierce glare from Bakugo that made him retreat.
Just then, Shinso entered, settling into a desk behind Bakugo, with Denki beside him.
Denki's eyes then caught a glimpse of something on Shinso's binder. "Dude, is that a girl's number?" he exclaimed, surprised.
"Yeah, some girl wrote it on my binder this morning when it was left unattended. I'm not sure who," Shinso shrugged, nonchalant.
"Are you going to call it?" Denki prodded.
"No. It's weird to leave numbers on someone's personal belongings," Shinso replied, shoving the binder under his desk.
Mineta, eavesdropping from behind, perked up. "You've got a girl's number? Let me have it!" he exclaimed, diving down under Shinsos chair to grab the binder.
"Knock yourself out," Shinso said, unimpressed.
Mineta quickly entered the number into his phone, excitement gleaming in his eyes. "I can't wait to see what hot babe is on the other side of this number!" he gushed.
Denki rolled his eyes, resting his head on his arm. "What girl would want to date you?"
Mineta, lost in his fantasies, completely missed the jab, dreaming of his future conquest. As the lunch bell rang, Arisa felt anxious after what happened yesterday. She had chosen to sit with her brother Bakugo and his friends since her old table was no longer an option. The atmosphere was charged, filled with the usual chatter. but Arisa couldn't shake off the feeling of being watched. Everyone was now gossiping about her and about yesterday and she hated the attention. She stood in line next to Bakugo, who was already in a mood, his protective instincts flaring as he handed her a tray, his voice low and threatening. "Don't think you've gotten away with your bullshit from this morning. We're having a long talk after school." His tone was serious, and Arisa felt a knot tighten in her stomach. "You're giving me anxiety.." she says to him.
As they moved forward, Arisa's attention drifted, she was caught off guard when Shinso appeared beside her. The moment she laid eyes on him, her heart raced, and a wave of panic washed over her. "Oh god...no! No no no!" In a moment of sheer instinct, she cut in front of Bakugo, desperate to avoid any interaction. "Hey, what the hell is wrong with you?" Bakugo's voice cut through her thoughts, but all she could manage was a nervous, "Nothing! I'm just hungry!" His piercing gaze noted her flushed cheeks, and as he glanced to the side, he spotted Shinso, suspicion brewing in his mind about his sister's sudden awkwardness. The only time she acts this spazzy is when she likes someone. But then again, this is his sister we're talking about.
The chaos escalated when Arisa, in her haste to escape the line, accidentally bumped into Max, sending her tray crashing to the ground. "I'm so sorry..." she mumbled, guilt flooding her as she watched Max's anger ignite. The confrontation escalated quickly, with Max hurling insults and her food splattering everywhere. "You bitch! This was my new sweater!" Max yells. In a moment of empathy despite her hating Max, Arisa offered her tray to her, hoping to make amends. But instead of accepting, Max retaliated by smashing the tray into Arisa's face. Bakugo, witnessing the scene unfold, felt a surge of protectiveness for his sister. He stormed out of line, fury igniting within him as he chased after Max, who, realizing her mistake, bolted away in fear. The tension in the cafeteria was palpable, and Arisa was left standing there, humiliated but grateful for her brother's fierce loyalty.
