~ X ~
I'm chilling atop the van and minding my own business (not really) when suddenly, shit begins to swerve. Like, guys, I AM ON TOP OF IT, could you please not take the lover's quarrel to that extent?
Anyway, I hold on for dear life (don't ask me how I did it. I just did it. It was hard) until the vehicle stops and there's silence, except for the rustling on grasses as Heidi disappears like a flash into the woods.
Wait. What in hell happened?
I'm not particularly eager to miss out on the fun. I love all the gory details; just like I did when I watched Hunter digging his fists into those people's chests. What a party pooper, that one. Now I know he and I would've been best mates if he weren't my greatest enemy. Oh, well.
I descend the van while hoping Heidi didn't get vengeful on Hunter. Thankfully, she did not. Or she couldn't. The madman is resting his head on the steering wheel as he groans.
"Ah... she's good," he slurs. "Very good."
He lifts his head and squints in my direction, through the space left of the van's open door. I'm standing at the front passenger's side, but he doesn't see me. What he sees are the shadows beyond, which are also the woods.
"Did I forget to lock the door?" He mumbles and huffs an unamusing smile. "Hunter, you fool."
I'm smiling too as I watch him lean back to the backrest before closing his eyes for a brief moment. But the sound of an approaching car brings him back to reality.
When his eyes snap open, he glances in the rearview mirror, spotting a police car pulling up behind him.
"Ah. Fucking hell."
