Somewhere on the outskirts of London
"Good morning, Poppet. I thought I'd have to wake you." Azarea says in a very cheery mood. Well, I didn't sleep Poppet so it's not exactly a good morning now is it. I spent all night in bed and stared at the ceiling until I got bored and went out on the balcony, I was peacefully watching the sun rise until he walked in. "Disappointed?" I say still staring into the distance. "A little I had the perfect alarm tactic I always wanted to try." "You have a brother couldn't you try it on him?" "No, he's always up before me so never had the chance. Freshen up and come downstairs for breakfast there's someone we'd love you to meet." "Another member of the messed-up family." "I guess you could say that. Fifteen minutes." With that he turns and leaves. I watch him leave as his golden locks sway as he walks. He is great to look at to be honest, too bad he's too psychotic.
"You do know he's too old for you, right?" Nora says sitting up in bed. "Maybe but he's a great picture to admire. Besides while we're here might as well find something pretty to look at." We both giggle and she kicks out the covers "I'm gonna shower. You can go after me." She stretches out her hands and hangs her legs on the side of the bed. "I was gonna shower first..." She immediately gets up but I'm faster and reach the door first, closing it behind me. I laugh in victory, and she grunts in frustration on the other side which just boosts my pride. "Cheater!" she says. "Winner!" I correct and start stripping.
I walk out of the bathroom with a towel on. I find Nora seated on the bed. "I mean you run track, but I still beat you. You need to up your game." She says nothing but keeps staring out at the balcony. I move closer to her and ask, "What's up?" "I wasn't expecting this scene early in the morning." There's that interesting voice again. "Maybe next time don't walk in on people getting ready." I turn around to face him, but he was closer than I thought. "Relax I just came over to say happy birthday." Not too surprised he knows it since he clearly knows everything. And how fucking dare he says the forbidden word. "Don't. I don't celebrate my birthday." "But sixteen is a very important period in a young lady's life don't you think?" "Maybe to other young ladies not me. Leave." He smirks and turns to leave "It's all just good fun anyway." He says still walking and shut the door as soon as he leaves.
"I know you kinda don't like him, but he does have a point. You never celebrate your birthday ever since the accident and I-" "Forget about it. Go and shower." "But-" "Nora!" I yelled and She stands and heads into the bathroom, shutting the door behind her. I walk over and knock on the door. "Nora I'm sorry I didn't mean to yell. Nora? Please I-" my voice dies there's nothing I can say so I grab my clothes on dry my hair after I'm done, I look over to the bathroom door where she still barricaded herself. I leave the room and instantly feel regret. Maybe I should have been more understanding.
I never celebrated my birthday, and I asked Nora to never bring it up. I guess it hurts her not being able to be happy with me on the day, but I really don't want to.
"Ah Starfire! Glad you could finally join us." Micah says in the living room on his what I guess to be his favorite chair. I notice that on the couch was the lady from the airport who I think is Mazakeen and some old Chinese dude I have never seen before. Azarea was nowhere to be seen which was a real bummer. "I'm right here Poppet." He says coming from behind me. "Do you always peak into my personal thoughts or is it when he's around." I gesture to Micah across the room. He just smiles and nudges me forward. I move toward the armchair just across where Micah was seated, and Azarea sat on the armrest. "Now that you're finally here Starfire we can get started. But first introductions. I presume you already know Mazakeen, and this is our dear friend Xiao. Xiao meet Lillian the prophecy." Wait what did he just say? "Prophecy? What the fuck are you talking about?" I say and Xiao just stares at me analytically. "Amazing. She's not what I imagined are you sure it's her." He asks looking at Micah this time. "Positive. I'm never wrong." He says leaning into his seat and stares at me. "Not saying you're wrong but possibly mislead. The prophecy stated as one touched by God, but she seems..." "I'm well aware on what this looks like, but I assure you she's the one we're looking for it just needs time and training." "I'm sorry but as the person you're talking about is seated right here care to enlighten on the hell you meant by prophecy?" I say irritated that they were doing what they did best ignore my fucking questions. "My dear the prophecy states that in the last days will come an entity one so powerful that would put an end to all evil and Satan." "It spoke of how that person would have been given a blessing from God to help them fight off the challenges of evil and inevitably kill off Satan." Azarea says adding to what Xiao said. "I still don't think it's her she's mortal and clearly sinful like the rest of us." Mazakeen interjects.
