(Saitama, Japan)

It was awkward. Gin was sitting on the living room with his black long sleeves and black trousers with his coat and hat hanging on the coat hanger. He had a headache but just tried to massage it away. He was glaring at the television and it just so happened that it was playing Shiori's movie.

His eyes drifted to one of the closed doors in the cottage. Knowing who was behind it made him feel impatient, he took her back in the cottage and was planning to get out the minute Marsala comes back but she just texted and said she was out of the country and will come back after two days.

She changed. The moment she learned about his real identity, Shiori was quiet, always glaring and flinching whenever he comes near. What do I expect? He sarcastically thought. It was a good thing that she was being obedient when he told her to come with her to the cottage. He was stealing glances at her in the mirror and there were times he caught her doing the same.

He looked at the clock and saw it was already 4 in the morning. Gin didn't want to sleep, thinking someone might come from the organization for Shiori. He heard small steps coming from the room - whipping his head, he saw Shiori wearing a nightgown with scarf draped on her shoulders. "Where are you going?"

But she didn't answered. She scowled and went out of the cottage, Gin just got up, taking his coat with him. She's stubborn.

While walking she stopped to pick some wildflowers then they stopped at her favorite place - the lake. Gin looked at the surroundings, making sure there wasn't anyone present. Shiori was walking towards the lake before stopping as her toes were feeling the cold water.

"Here."

She raised her head to glare at the man beside her, "I want to be alone."

He clicked his tongue but still had his hand up to hand her his coat. She doesn't want to accept it but cold wind blew and Shiori shivered. Gin just scowled and placed his coat on her shoulders before leaving her side. She watched as he left and noticed his left hand shaking before he did some flickering movements with his thumb, reminding her of how Shuichi flicks ashes from the cigarette.

Shiori just dismissed the thought and sat near the lake, secretly grateful for the coat as she held it tighter around her.

...

Gin, on the other hand, sat on the grass watching Shiori from afar but still near enough to run towards her in case anything happens. He looked down on his hand, he was already experiencing withdrawal symptoms from not smoking for just a night. He looked back at the woman, her head tilting on the side, lost in her own world as she stare at the lake. She laid down and he just raised his knees, got into a comfortable position and patiently waited for her.

Soon, the sun rose at the same direction they were facing. Halfway of the sunrise, the woman who took a nap got up, his coat on the ground, her hair a mess, and her nightgown was slipping off her left shoulder.
