But all I saw was the reflection of the cowering, scared little girl in the mirror who looked at me with her hazel brown eyes that were filled to the brim with tears.
The reflection of the girl who I used to be.
The girl who wished to know why and how her future self had become so much of a killer.
A monster.

Wondrous ways, we humans have
Twisting the lore to our own little tales
Turn them to our side, truth live and die
Deaf ears listening to pitiful wails
Beautiful words,
spill out from our mouths
Melodies made to fool
Lovely little lies, to make them compromise
So they get hit while we come out whole
Tables on the turning,
we hide our cards
Show them only what they want to hear,
Skeleton in the closet, they come unprotected
Screaming now whilst we push away their tears
You might say that we don't mean to
You might say we're not that bad
That we only do it for their own good
But the knife can't be stopped once you let it stab
-by me (thought it'd fit good with the theme of the story)
