MANIK'S POV:

"Manik, does Nandani know about all this?" Alya asked, her voice filled with concern.

I shook my head. "No, Alya. I don’t think so, and honestly, it’s better if she doesn’t find out—at least not for a while."

The thought of telling her the truth made my chest tighten. She had already been through so much in the past few days. I couldn't bear the idea of putting her through more pain. She was still in shock from everything that had happened, and I didn't want to add to her trauma or break her with the truth right now.

"Manik," Gamma Dhruv spoke up. "The Red Blood Pack knows Nandani is with us. There’s a chance they could attack again."

I clenched my fists. Of course, they wouldn’t stop. Not until they got what they wanted.

"I'll protect my mate," I said firmly. "I'll increase the patrols along the borders. There's a traitor in our pack, and we need to find out who it is—fast."

My fists clenched as I spoke, anger building inside me. How could someone betray us at a time like this?

"Nandani..." Beta Cabir said in a low voice.

I spun around to face him. "What the hell, Cabira?" I snapped. "I trust my mate. She can't be the traitor!"

"Manik," Cabir said, his voice even lower this time, "Nandani is at the door."

My heart stopped for a second. I turned quickly, my breath catching in my throat. There she was—my mate, standing at the doorway, her eyes wide and full of tears. The sight of her broke me inside.

I opened my mouth to speak, but no words came out.

Oh, Moon Goddess! Did she hear everything?

"Nandani," I called out, trying to soften my voice, but before I could say more, she turned and ran toward the bedroom.

Without wasting a second, I followed her, my heart racing. "Nandani, please listen to me, baby girl," I pleaded.

When I reached the bedroom, I found her sitting on the bed, her face buried in her hands, sobbing uncontrollably. I knelt down in front of her, gently taking her hands into mine. I could feel the warmth of her tears as they fell onto my skin, each one more precious to me than any treasure in this world.

"Nandani, please," I whispered, my heart aching. "I never wanted to hurt you. You're my everything. Please, believe me."

“Please tell me that whatever I heard was a lie,” she cried, her voice trembling.

I felt my heart sink. I wanted to shield her from the truth, but now that she knew, there was no going back. I sighed. “Nandani, since you already know, I won’t lie to you anymore. It’s all true, baby,” I said, my voice low.

Her eyes widened in disbelief, and she shook her head. “No, it cannot be true. Werewolves don’t exist. They’re just myths, stories from books. They exist in the fictional world, not ours!” she cried out, refusing to accept what she had learned.
