Nandani's POV:
I slowly opened my eyes, only to squeeze them shut again as a sharp beam of light hit my face. It took a few moments for my eyes to adjust to the brightness. When I finally managed to keep them open, my heart pounded in fear. There, sitting at the corner of the bed, was my kidnapper- Manik. I crawled back, clutching the blanket tightly against my chest.
"Hey, relax. I'm not going to hurt you," he said, raising his hands slowly.
"Who are you? What do you want from me? And the wolves... why didn't they kill me?" My voice trembled as I bombarded him with questions. I watched him closely as he seemed lost in some thoughts.
Suddenly, a sharp pain shot through my head, and I cried out, clutching it between my hands. The headache was unbearable, like it was trying to split my skull open.
"Baby, are you okay?" he asked with concern, reaching out to hold my hands. But I quickly pulled them away, not wanting him to touch me.
"Please don't touch me", I cried.
"Fine, I won't touch you," he said softly, his voice gentle.
Then, he called someone. A moment later, a woman in her mid-thirties entered the room, her head bowed slightly in respect.
"Yes, Alpha?" she asked politely.
More questions flooded my mind. He had told me his name was Manik, but why did people call him Alpha? And why do they show him such deep respect? Was he some kind of gangster or a mafia boss? Oh, Nandini, what kind of trouble have you gotten yourself into?
"Call the doctor immediately," he ordered the woman.
Within minutes, the doctor arrived, accompanied by a few nurses.
"Stay away! Don’t come near me!" I screamed, tears streaming down my face as I tried to push them away.
"Alpha, we need to give her an injection to help her sleep peacefully," the doctor explained calmly.
"No, I don’t want an injection! Get away from me!" I yelled, my voice filled with fear.
Manik looked at the doctor and nodded. "Do whatever is necessary for her health," he said firmly.
The doctor pulled out a syringe from her medical kit, while the nurses held down my arms and legs
"Let me go," I begged, struggling to free myself from their firm grip. The sight of that needle filled me with dread.
"Leave her," Manik commanded in a cold, authoritative tone. Instantly, the nurses stepped back.
Would he hurt me? I looked at him, my eyes wide with fear. He moved toward me and sat down next to the bed. Before I could run, he grabbed my arms and pulled me onto his lap. The doctor approached with the injection, and as the needle pierced my skin, I screamed in agony.
