To let go of the sorrow that crashed
Like a mighty wave within
Would seem like a storm from afar,
Yet on the surface, it remained still.
But only when you walk through it
Can you see the embers in her soul,
Burning away the lingering hurt,
Alas, closing the etched wound to her core.
Yet still, like a phantom wind,
It clung to her heart,
Refusing to leave, refusing to stop.
And that fire, blue as ice, raged inside—
Far worse than any endured on the outside.
For she watched all she loved fall around,
That raging fire razing, silent with no sound.
Only to survive, it raged,
For without it, she'd remain
In a thousand shredded pieces,
Of dreams, she once dared to claim.
