Pete POV
A week has passed since the events took place. It's also been a week since I returned to school. My routine remains the same. Nothing has changed.
I'm currently staying at Tankhun's place. He ordered me to stay there so I could be protected from Vegas.
Speaking of Vegas, it's also been a week since I've seen him come to school. Kinn and Kimhan, their cousins, are silent about his whereabouts. I heard from Porsche that he's not even in his own condo. It's not that I'm looking for him, just curious about what happened to him after I disappeared. Did he look for me? Did anything happen with the transaction? Is he okay?
I looked at my wrist. There are no marks left from the handcuffs, as if it never really happened. It feels like a beautiful nightmare from a night I'll never forget, one I would revisit if I had the power.
I snapped out of my deep thoughts when someone suddenly put their arm around my shoulder—it was Porsche. He was with Arm and Pol. I was in the library, reviewing for the upcoming exam. I think I’m the only one among us who’s serious about studying. Porsche is naturally smart, and as for Arm and Pol, even if they fail, they're still wealthy and have family businesses to inherit.
"Let's eat, I'm hungry. My head's been hurting from memorizing formulas. Damn," Arm complained as he plopped down in the chair in front of me, scratching his head. His face showed clear frustration and boredom.
"Where do you want to eat, babe? My treat. Or do you want to come over to my place? I’ll cook for you," Pol suggested sweetly to Arm as he sat next to him.
"Stop it, Pol. I still have a class later," Arm replied irritably without even looking at Pol, his head down on the table.
"Hey, Pete! Stop reviewing for now. Stop pretending you’re learning something. I'll teach you. Let’s go eat!" Porsche urged. He even packed my things himself and put them in my bag. We stood up and left the library.
"You're treating?" I double-checked. I didn’t want to end up paying for everyone since I haven’t received my allowance yet.
"Of course! But you’re treating us next time. Double!” I looked at Porsche to see if he was serious, but he just grinned at me with a mischievous look.
"No way!" I was about to leave, but he grabbed my arm. I shot him a glare for his teasing.
"Just kidding! You’re too serious. Just chill!"
I don't know what Porsche was up to, but I just let him drag me to a nearby pizza restaurant.
When we got there, they immediately ordered and waited for the food.
"Did you guys hear? Apparently, we have a field trip after the exam next week!" Porsche said after taking a big bite of pizza.
"Really? Where is our field trip? Are any other departments joining?" Arm asked, as Pol tried to feed him fries, which he pushed away with his elbow.
"I heard the engineering department is coming along. You know us architecture students—we’re always paired with the engineering guys," Porsche replied.
"Well, at least you’ll be with your partner, Kinn. But, mind you, no baby-making on the field trip! We don’t want to be hearing your moans every night," Pol joked. Porsche threw fries at him, but he just laughed.
"I don’t even know if he can come. He’s busy with business meetings around the country since his dad is currently abroad handling their overseas business," Porsche added, with a hint of sadness.
"Hey Pete! Speak up. Cat got your tongue? Are you coming on the field trip?" Pol asked, looking at me.
Porsche and Arm also turned to look at me. Pol didn't know what happened to me the other day, but I told Arm and Porsche not to tell anyone else because I didn't want the situation to worse and I didn't want them to get involved with Vegas.
