Pete POV

"Wake up, baby."

I felt something gently touching my forehead and cheek, but I didn't want to open my eyes yet. I still wanted to sleep. I was so comfortable lying on the soft bed, hugging a somewhat firm pillow. I could feel someone hugging me from behind.

"Hmmmm," I groaned, still keeping my eyes shut, refusing to open them. I realized it was actually him I was hugging, not a pillow.

"My sweet, wake up now, my baby. Who are you dreaming about, huh? It should be me; otherwise, I'll burn whoever it is alive," he said softly. He sounded a bit annoyed, but his voice was gentle, like he was pouting.

My sweet. It sounded so nice in my ears. I slowly opened my eyes, and the first thing I saw was his pair of eyes staring at me. They were warm and deep. This was the first time I'd seen that expression on his face, and it made my heart race. I thought I might die from how handsome this man was.

"Hmmm... Vegas," I buried my face in his neck again to hide my blushing. Early in the morning, and I'm already dying from excitement.

"Are you hungry? Want me to get you breakfast here?" he asked, holding my hand and intertwining our fingers.

We came back to Vegas's house after our exam yesterday. I didn't know he had a house near the beach. It's a two-story cabana house, spacious yet simple. It's a bit far from our school, but since he has a motorcycle, the travel was quick.

He hasn't asked me about what happened yet. He's probably waiting for me to willingly tell him everything. We just watched a movie yesterday, ate, cuddled, and then I fell asleep. We were downstairs in the living room yesterday, but now we're here in his bedroom. He must have carried me up here.

"No, I want to cook," I said, my eyes still heavy with sleep.

"Okay, baby. You're the boss," he said, kissing my forehead.

My heart was overflowing with joy because I was now with the man I loved the most. I haven't spoken to Tankhun since yesterday because I've been with Vegas, and I didn't even think to tell my friends. Luckily, I resigned from my part-time job last week. I'd missed a lot of work, and my mind was all over the place, so I just decided to quit rather than drag them into my problems.

It's Saturday. Weekend. Vegas and I decided to go for a swim outside. The sun was blazing, but nobody seemed to care-everyone was having the time of their lives swimming and sunbathing.

The beach here is huge, and there are tons of food spots and resto bars around.

"How long have you been living here, Vegas? I didn't know you have a house by the beach," I asked. We were sitting side by side on foldable chairs under the parasol he set up earlier.

Vegas looked at me with his dreamy eyes. He was so handsome, even with that slightly grumpy expression on his face. He quickly downed his glass of orange juice and turned to face me.

"I only bought this place after you left," he said, his voice carrying a hint of sadness. He stared at me, clearly waiting for an explanation about why I left. I couldn't answer right away and just looked down at where I was sitting.

For some reason, I couldn't meet his eyes. They had this strange effect on me-making my body feel warm and my throat go dry. I was nervous but tried not to show it.

"G-got it," I stammered, stealing a quick glance at him before looking away again. I sipped through my straw, feeling the heat rising in me as his gaze stayed locked on me.

I had no idea what he was thinking because he didn't say a word. He just kept looking at me.

"How have you been? Why didn't you show up at school for a week?" I asked, shifting my focus to the beach where some kids were busy playing.
