As she slipped off her cardigan, I noticed her hesitation and trembling fingers. My heart sank when I saw the blue and black bruises on her arms. Who could have hurt this sweet girl so much? I wondered.
I stayed quiet, letting her set the pace, as she slowly removed the cardigan, revealing a large cut concealed under a thin, sleeveless top.
"Hey, baby, I need you to remove this top too, so I can apply some ointment on that cut," I said gently.
At first, she hesitated, but then slowly pulled off the top. As I moved closer, she flinched, and I realized she was scared. I whispered softly into her ear, "I'm here to help, not hurt. I promise."
" Baby , I need to remove your bra too, so I can reach the cut," I explained, my fingers grazing her bra hook. "Is that okay?"
Her heart raced, and her cheeks flushed, but she nodded. I carefully unhooked her bra, my fingers tracing her back and shoulders as I slid the straps off. Her skin felt fragile under my touch.

"Baby, I need to remove your bra too , so I can reach the cut ," she said, her fingers brushing against the hook of my bra. "Is that okay?"
My heart skipped a beat as I nodded, feeling a blush rise to my cheeks. Her touch was like a whisper, soft and gentle, and I felt my tension ease.
As she carefully unhooked my bra, her fingers tracing the curve of my back and shoulders, I felt a sense of calm wash over me. It was as if her touch had a soothing effect, melting away my worries and fears.
"I'm just going to clean this wound and apply some ointment, okay?" she whispered softly in my ear, her warm breath sending shivers down my spine. "If you feel any pain, just let me know. I'm right here next to you."
As she began gently cleaning the wound, I felt a stinging pang of pain. I bit my lip, trying to hold back the tears that pricked at the corners of my eyes. But as the pain intensified, a tiny whimper escaped my mouth.
Immediately, I grasped her arm, my fingers digging into her skin.
As she finished applying the ointment, she blew gently on my wound, sending a soothing calm through me. I kept my eyes closed, my hand still grasping her arm, feeling a sense of security in her touch.
When she finally finished, she shifted closer, her fingers brushing against my face as she tucked a stray hair behind my ear. "Hey, sweetie, I'm all done," she whispered, her breath sending shivers down my spine.
I opened my eyes, startled, and met her gaze. My cheeks flushed as I took in the array of affectionate nicknames she'd used - darling, baby, and now sweetie. It was all so... new.
For a few moments, we just stared at each other, our eyes locked in a silent understanding. It was as if we didn't need words; our gazes spoke volumes. The air around us was charged with emotion, and I felt my heart pounding in my chest.
I couldn't help but wonder what she was thinking, what was going through her mind as she looked at me with such tenderness. And I knew, in that moment, that I felt the same way.
The phone rang, breaking the silence between us. Our eyes, still locked in a tender gaze, slowly parted as Victoria got up to answer it. "Hey, babe,"
she heard Andrew's voice on the other end, her tone changed. Victoria walked away, disappearing into the closet as she continued talking to her husband.
