Diana's POV

"No, I'm twenty one." Aidan said, matter-a-factly.

I facepalmed. "Yeah, I know."

"Wait, you know?" Aidan asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Yeah, Mace won't shut up about you. It's really annoying." I explained, crossing my arms. "But fine, I suppose there is some logic in getting to know each other."

"Great." He practically squealed. "So, um, what do you want to know?"

"I dunno." I flopped down on one of the couches, him sitting down awkwardly next to me. "Um, what's your favorite book?"

"The Umbrella Academy comics." Aidan pulled up a picture on his phone of the cover. "Yours?"

"Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire." I answered with a small yawn. "Um, favorite movie?"

"The Batman Movie. You?"

"The Wonka movie."

"You actually liked that movie?" He instantly scoffed. I whacked him on the shoulder.

"Yes, for your information I did." I snapped, crossing my arms and leaning back on the couch. "It was cute, had a good story line, wonderful music, dancing, and was incredibly colorful."

I watched him roll his eyes before saying. "Okay fine, what's your favorite musical artist?"

"A-uh..." I paused and stuttered, not wanting to tell him the truth, so I said. "..um, Anson Seabra. Yours?"

"David Bowie." He said proudly. I nodded.

"Favorite song by Bowie?"

"'Rock n' Roll Suicide'. Favorite song by Seabra?"

"'Miss Me The Same'."

"That's a breakup song."

"Don't you write break-up songs?"

"No, I write- hey, how do you know what kind of songs I write?"

I froze. I didn't know how to answer that, so I changed the subject. "Favorite colour?"

"Black." He answered, skeptically. "Yours?"

"Green."

"Hogwarts House?"

"Slytherin. Yours?"

"Hufflepuff."

"Of course." I scoffed, chuckling. "You definitely give me Hufflepuff vibes. My brother's a Hufflepuff."

"Well you're definitely a Slytherin. I bet you had a crush on Draco Malfoy when you watched the movies." He shot back, giggling to himself.

I rolled my eyes. "That ferret? Uh, no. Not my type." I yawned. "Anyways, that's all you can know about me for now. I'm tired. 'Night." I stretched out and started walking toward the elevators.

"Wait, let me walk you back to your apartment." He got up instantly and walked with me to the elevators, then to the hotel room.

I gave him an awkward wave and 'goodnight' as I entered, leaving him outside.

Breakfast the next morning was, well, awkward.

Aidan was just quiet, while Jessica was blabbing to everyone within a five mile radius that Aidan and I were dating.

And that alone made my uncle give me the side-eye throughout the entire breakfast. I just wanted to eat my waffles in peace, but apparently, I wasn't going to get any.

When breakfast was over, my uncle dragged me back to our hotel room, where he and Mace sat me down onto the couch and glared at me for like ten minutes. It was really boring.

"Sooooooooooo, if you guys are just going to stare at me, can we do this another time?" I asked, pursing my lips. "I have to pee."

They groaned and let me escape to the bathroom, where I did indeed, go pee.

When I came back, they were arguing, so I hid behind the TV and eavesdropped.

"She can't have a boyfriend, she's too young!" My uncle was saying.

"She's not too young for a boyfriend! I trust Aidan, he'll treat her right." Mace argued.

"Well I don't trust him!"

"He cares about the environment!"

"So do most creeps!"

"He's not a creep!"

"How do you know that?"

"He's my friend!"

"Who's dating your cousin!"

"We're not really dating!" I yelled, walking up to them, making them both give me a weird look.

"What do you mean?" Mace, asked, crossing his arms.

"I mean, we technically haven't even been on a real date." I explained, taking a deep breath and rubbing my temples.

"Then it's settled." Mace said, patting my back and making me glare at him. "They'll go on a date tomorrow, get to know each other better, and prove he's a good man for my cousin."

"Wha- no-" I didn't even get a chance to say an entire word when the two of them started planning this date down to the second.

And before I knew it, I was stuck in an Italian restaurant, wearing a nice shirt and clean pants I have no clue where they got from, and sitting across from Aidan, a bowl of spaghetti in front of me.

"Sooooooooooo." I said, playing awkwardly with the fork as Aidan finished arguing with a waiter over the difference between vegan and vegetarian meals.

"So." He said, nodding. "You look, different, all cleaned up, um."

I groaned, rubbing my temples. Mace and my uncle were watching us from a table a few tables down, and it was honestly, making this ten times more awkward.

"Welp, we tried." I said, putting down my fork. "So much for 'going on a date'."

I started to stand up to leave, but he stopped me. "Okay, the restaurant, maybe wasn't the best idea. We need to go somewhere actually fun."

I thought for a moment. "Alright, fine." I said, then, when my uncle and Mace were busy arguing (thus, not paying attention to us) I paid the bill for our half-eaten spaghetti, and led Aidan out into the night.

"Where're we going?" He asked.

"To have some real fun." I smiled.
