Before
Meredith was sitting on a gurney in the tunnels as she worked on Derek's charts. She groaned as she finally finished, flipping backwards onto the gurney. "That bad?" Addison chuckled as she sat down next to the blonde, brushing the wild strands of blonde hair out of her eyes and kissing her forehead. "I'd ask how your day is going, but I'm afraid that if I do, you're going to start beating me with that chart."
"Your husband is an ass." Meredith rolled her eyes as she sat up and laid her head on Addison's shoulder. "He won't let me scrub in because I refused to go out for drinks with him tonight. He could at least have the decency to get a divorce before asking me out."
"And if he was divorced and asked you out, what would you say?" Addison asked with a raised eyebrow, her heart beating in her ears as she waited for Meredith's answer.
"I'd still say no." Meredith assured her. "You know I don't have any feelings like that left for him. Plus, I'm pretty sure you've ruined me for anyone else." She giggled and kissed Addison's cheek.
"That was my goal." Addison laughed. "Mission accomplished!"
"I thought your goal was to be happy?" Meredith smirked.
"Ruining you for anyone else makes me very happy." Addison explained with a smug smile. "Speaking of, what are you doing tonight?"
"Hopefully the same thing I did last night." Meredith traced Addison's full lips with the tip of her finger. "I could never tire of listening to you get fucked."
"In that case, I'll see you at eight?" Addison internally cursed as she felt her cheeks heat up with a blush. This was nothing, this was just fun. There was nothing between her and the intern other than a mutual desire to take control of their lives for once and do something that makes them happy as opposed to doing what the world expects from them. She wasn't supposed to be getting butterflies from the blonde's touch.
"I'll see you at eight." Meredith nodded with a smile. "It's not like I'll be stuck in surgery or anything." She added with a frustrated eye roll.
"I'm sorry that he's not being fair." Addison kissed Meredith's forehead. "I'll make it up to you tonight."
"You always do." Meredith smiled and looked around, making sure no one else was coming. Once she was sure that the coast was clear, the blonde pressed her lips to Addison's for a long moment before pulling away with a smile. "I'll see you tonight." She got up from the gurney and walked away, leaving the redhead alone with her thoughts.
"That girl is going to be the death of me." Addison snorted as she got up and left the basement, settling in her office to work on paperwork. A couple of hours later, the redhead sat up straight in her chair when a knock on the door startled her. "Come in!"
"Hey Addie." Derek forced a smile as he walked into Addison's office, shutting the door behind him.
"Hi Derek." Addison greeted as she tried to hide the disappointment on her face when it wasn't a certain blonde intern knocking on her door. "What can I do for you?"
"We haven't spent a lot of time together since we decided to give our marriage another shot." Derek reached out to hold Addison's hand, frowning when the redhead momentarily tensed up before relaxing. "Why don't we go out for dinner tonight?"
"I can't tonight." Addison sighed. "I have an early surgery in the morning so once I'm finished up here, I am going home and going straight to bed. Raincheck?"
"Sure, I probably shouldn't leave the hospital anyway, I have a complicated patient that could turn critical at any moment." Derek explained. "Dr. Grey and I should prepare for a long night with possible complications."
