Turns out, it was pretty easy to get over a scumbag ex who was probably a walking red flag when your brother was having guy problems.

And by guy problems, I mean unable to pour his heart out to the  guy he likes in fear that said guy wouldn't like him back.

And between Cass and myself, we were gonna make Niko like him.

Well, before that, Dad had insisted we go over to our Uncle and Aunt's house because Gracia got hurt or something like that. I mean, sure, Gracia is important, but I need to make my brother's love life better.

Uncle Adam's house isn't far from ours, but it was still annoying to have to go when I could be spending time convincing Niko that my brother is the best.

"Will," I whispered, elbowing my brother in the side. "As soon as we can, we are breaking out of here and going to Niko's house. Cass is gonna meet us there."

He feigned pain, clutching his side and pretending to stumble over like the drama queen he is, earning a look from our mother beloved, who looked more worried for her niece (who was probably fine and refusing to stay still) than her dramatic as hell son.

"Yes, Del,you have said it over 6 times now? I really don't want mom and dad knowing yet, okay?" Will whispered back, elbowing me harder in the side. The moron has superstrength. That hurt like hell.

"Wait- You haven't told mom and dad yet?" I said a little too loud, causing mom to turn around fully.

"Told us what, Del?" she queried, the suspicion rising. I mean, technically I could lie? Right? It was not my place to have him come out to mom and dad.

"That I have a school assignement due. Painting. I'll do it when we get home," Will cut in before I could throroughly embarrass myself. I mouthed a thank you at him and he nodded, and we rounded the bend to The Kent's place.

The house looks quite like ours, given that we live in The New City together, most houses look the same. They chose a house a little closer to school with a bigger garden because Luke loved plants and stuff when he was growing up. We visit quite frequently, something about making up for lost time in the past or whatever stuff Dad made up. He wasn't the biggest fan of Uncle Adam, but they got along for our sakes.

Aunt Alia was stood on the front steps, smiling, waving a little as we walked around. She came down the stairs, giving mom a hug and saying hi to dad.

"Hey Will, Del, you two okay?" she asked, looking a little worse for wear. She had clearly been worrying about Gracia. I would be too. We both nodded, not really in a talking mood. It was a little rude, but my mind was.. preoccupied with other stuff.

"How is she doing?" Dad asked, quite casually, which was weird. He is never so casual. "Gracia, is she feeling better?"

Aunt Alia nodded, and the front door opened above her. Uncle Adam.
