Alexander sighed and leaned back against his chair, putting the pen down on the table and closing his eyes to relax them.

"Maybe you should take a break Sir?" Liam, his assistant asked politely standing beside him.

Alexander looked up at him and glared. "Don't tell me what to do."

"No, Sir, it was just a suggestion." Liam replied with fear.

Alexander was about to snap at him when his phone rang. "Yes?"

"Mr. Morrow, there's a woman at the front door, she's asking to be let inside, she says her name is Klara and you know her."

Alexander realized who Klara was. It was the woman he dated a few months back but his wife found out so he had to end it.

"Why is she here?" Alexander was so fed up with women like her.

"She's saying it's private."

"Tell her to say what it is or make her go away." Alexander waited for a while as he heard the conversation over the phone. "She says she has your daughter Sir."

Alexander's eyes widened. He got up from his seat and went to look out of the window. He didn't want his assistant to notice his reaction. And expressions on his face.

"A daughter?" He asked through gritted teeth.

"Yes. Sir."

"Let her in." Alexander sighed and hung up.

He took a deep breath and went back to his seat.

After a couple of minutes there was a knock on the door. "Come in." Alexander called out and the door opened, revealing Klara without anyone. Did she lie? Alexander thought as he looked her up and down.

Klara understood what he was searching for so she told him, "I left her in the car."

Liam frowned. He heard the whole conversation between Alexander and the guard. "Leaving a baby in the car by herself isn't a smart decision." He spoke about his concerns.

Alexander waved him off. "Leave Liam."

Liam hesitated but left.

"What do you want Klara?"

Klara snorted. "For you to take your daughter, I don't want a kid. You know that."

Alexander laughed. "You think my wife will let me raise someone else's kid in here?"

"It's your daughter!" Klara raised her tone.

Alexander glared at her and stood up, taking a couple of steps towards her. "Watch your tone Klara."

Klara gulped in fear, "I mean, please take your daughter, I can't take care of her. I don't have money, I don't have a house. I live with a roommate."

Alexander was deep in thoughts. He knew his wife would never let him do something like raising another woman's child here. He obviously could do whatever he wanted but if he went against his wife then she'd tell everyone that he cheated and it'd be bad for his business. He couldn't risk his reputation.

"I'll send her to my grandparents." Alexander quickly thought of a solution. He hasn't seen his parents in ages because they lived in another country and they weren't fond of his wife.

He sent his children's photos online but his parents have never seen them. They always argued with him and pressured him to visit them with his kids but he never had time. He had to take care of his company.

"Are you sure?" Klara asked. She didn't want a child but she wanted the girl to be grown up in a family where she'd be loved.

"Yes." Alexander nodded his head. "I'll warn my parents to not utter a single word about her with anyone."

Klara nodded, finally satisfied.

"I'll pay for everything she might need." Alexander added, trying to get rid of the guilt that he felt, knowing he'd not be able to raise his daughter. But he tried to think of something else. He already had a daughter and she was an attention seeker. She always wanted to play with him even though he explained to her how important work was. But Ellie was only 5 years old so she didn't understand.

"I'll leave then." Klara turned around without another word while Alexander called one of his guards and asked him to take the baby to his parents. He wouldn't see her. And his family would never know about her. Never.

How wrong he was.
