Without blinking an eye,
in the deep hours of the night,
I go out to the balcony.
The bright moon rests low in the sky,
gently illuminating the surroundings.
And again, my thoughts wander to you —
the far away you,
under the same sky,
but, somewhere, not here.
I keep you closely in my mind,
because I know that you need more
than just a presence but rather,
a mere walking prayer.
It might be possible on that day,
that one person will appear in your life,
who will be there for you and not just
in your soul underneath the same sky.
I'll still exist,
beholden to have loved
even from afar
