In the classroom, Greece and Italy flanked France, each trying to outdo the other for her attention.

Greece leaned closer. "Hey, what are you going to do after class?"

France smiled slightly. "I am going to be learning the English."

Italy grinned. "I'm-a gonna be learning da English as well! Maybe we-a learn together, eh?"

France gave a playful glance between the two. "Yes, but what about the poor Greece?"

Greece, sensing his moment, echoed dramatically, "Yeah... what about the poor Greece?"

Italy rolled his eyes and, in a low, sarcastic voice, muttered, "I'm-a crying my eyes out."

With a smirk, he draped an arm around France's shoulder.

France giggled, then teased, "I have an idea."

Not missing a beat, Greece slung his arm around her other shoulder. "I have lots of ideas."

France raised an eyebrow and smiled slyly. "Why don't you and Greece study together, huh?"

Before either could respond, she slid away, leaving them both staring at each other awkwardly.

"Look at you," Italy muttered. "You think you’re so smart."

Greece grinned. "I am smart."

Their light bickering continued until the door swung open, and Mr UK strode in.

"Okay, class, sit down, settle down, please!" he called, clapping his hands.

The students scrambled into their seats, their conversations fizzling out into murmurs.

Mr. UK stood at the front of the classroom, ready to start the day. "First thing we'll do is have a register, alright—"

Just then, Kenya stepped into the room. "Sorry," he said, a hint of embarrassment in his voice.

Mr. UK waved him off. "Ah, it's okay! I expect you had a bit of difficulty getting around. Things will seem very strange."

Kenya nodded slowly, responding with a simple, "Yees... very strange."

"Yes, must be a shock coming from the underdeveloped regions to our more advanced way of life," Mr. UK continued, chuckling slightly.

"Yees..." Kenya replied again, a bit unsure.

Mr. UK, trying to be friendly, added, "Still, your people are doing remarkably well! Did you fly?"

Kenya looked puzzled. "Fly? What do you mean, Bwana?"

Mr. UK grinned, gesturing with his arms. "Fly! In a big iron bird!" He extended his arms and made a plane noise, flapping them enthusiastically. "Quite a change from riding an elephant....Unless you came by Jumbo—"

Clearing his throat, he quickly corrected himself, "Ehem... uhh, you can sit down."

Kenya, still looking a bit bewildered but amused, found his seat, while the rest of the class watched the exchange, a mix of curiosity and amusement on their faces.

Mr. UK cleared his throat and began, "Now I'm going to call out your names, and you're going to say 'Present.'"

"Present," Pakistan shouted without waiting for his name to be called.

"Yeah, well wait until I've called your name out," Mr. UK replied with a chuckle, shaking his head.

After finishing the roll call, Mr. UK realized he hadn't taken Kenya's name yet. "Well, I better take your particulars before I get into hot water," he said, glancing over at Kenya.
