The crowd erupted in cheers as Lysander and Alethea emerged, dripping wet, from the underwater palace. Alethea's long, raven-black hair cascaded down her back, glistening with water droplets. Her soaked clothes clung to her athletic frame, accentuating her determination.

As the cheers subsided, the host's voice boomed, "And now, the moment you've all been waiting for! The qualifiers have ended, and the semi-finalists are announced!"

The audience held its collective breath.

"In 10th place, Elara! 9th, Grin! 8th, Thrain! 7th, Eirlys! 6th, Cormac! 5th, Lysander from Maronia, wielding arsenal magic! 4th, Kael, with dark-infused armor and invisibility! 3rd, Lyra from Eldrid, mistress of illusions magic! 2nd, Sir Malakai from Valtoria, master of dark magic and reigning champion!"

The crowd's anticipation grew.

"And in 1st place, Alethea from Avalor! Her exceptional strategic thinking and raw magical power have earned her the top spot!"

The audience exploded in applause. Alethea's face flushed with pride.

Elianne rushed forward, embracing Alethea warmly. "Congratulations, Alethea! You're amazing!"

Prince Kieran followed, surprising Alethea with a heartfelt hug. "Well done, Alethea. You've made Avalor proud."

Lieutenant Ace and Rykeria approached, offering words of praise. "Your performance was outstanding, General Alethea. You've set the bar high."

As Alethea basked in the admiration, King Thane and Queen Harper arrived, their faces beaming with pride.

"Alethea, your display of magical prowess and cunning has impressed us all," King Thane said. "You are a true representative of Avalor's finest."

Queen Harper nodded. "We look forward to seeing you making us proud in the semi-finals tomorrow."

After the royal audience, Alethea retired to her quarters, exhausted but exhilarated.

A warm bath revived her, washing away the fatigue. She donned her familiar armor, feeling a sense of comfort and familiarity.

As she settled in for the night, Alethea's thoughts turned to the semi-finals. Tomorrow would bring new challenges, but she was ready.

The semi-finalists were a formidable group:

Lysander, with his arsenal magic and swordsmanship.
Kael, cloaked in dark-infused armor and invisibility.
Lyra, weaving illusions to confound her foes.
Sir Malakai, wielding dark magic with precision.
And Alethea, armed with her strategic mind and raw power.

The stage was set for an epic battle.

Would Alethea maintain her lead?
Could Lysander's swordsmanship overcome her magical prowess?
Would Sir Malakai's experience prove decisive?

The crowd's excitement would simmer overnight, awaiting the dawn of the semi-finals.

Prince Kieran walked toward Alethea's quarters, his footsteps echoing through the corridors. As he approached her door, he couldn't help but reflect on the events that had unfolded.

Alethea's performance in the tournament had left him in awe. Her strategic thinking, magical prowess, and determination had earned her the top spot among the semi-finalists.

As he knocked on the door, he thought back to their first meeting. Alethea's intelligence and wit had immediately captivated him. He had seen potential in her, and now, the entire realm recognized her exceptional abilities.

"Alethea, may I enter?" Prince Kieran asked, his voice gentle.

"Of course, Prince Kieran," Alethea replied, her voice warm.

He entered, finding Alethea seated on a couch, her armor gleaming in the soft light.

"Congratulations again, Alethea," Prince Kieran said, taking a seat beside her. "You've made Avalor proud."

Alethea smiled, her eyes sparkling. "Thank you, Prince Kieran."

As they conversed, Prince Kieran couldn't help but notice the way Alethea's hair fell in loose waves down her back, the way her eyes shone with a quiet confidence.

He realized his feelings for Alethea went beyond mere admiration. He saw a potential partner, a strong and intelligent woman who could stand beside him as an equal.

General Alethea stood formally, her expression composed, as Prince Kieran entered her quarters.

"Your Highness," she greeted, her voice crisp.

Prince Kieran smiled, his eyes crinkling. "Alethea, when we're alone, I wish you'd call me Alexandre."

Alethea's brow raised. "I'm not sure that's proper, Your Highness."

Prince Kieran's persistence wore her down. "Indulge me, General. We're not in a formal setting."

Alethea relented, her tone still professional. "Very well, Prince  Alexandre."

To celebrate her victory, Prince Kieran suggested a walk outside. The night air was crisp, the stars twinkling above.

As they strolled, Prince Kieran suddenly drew his sword. "Let's spar, General. I've always wanted to test my skills against yours."

Alethea's eyes sparkled. "You're no match for me, Alexandre."

Their blades clashed, the sound echoing through the night. Prince Kieran lost repeatedly, Alethea's skill unparalleled.

After their final battle, Prince Kieran panting, Alethea praised, "You're stronger than I expected, Your........I mean Alexandre."

As they walked further, Prince Kieran's expression turned contemplative. "May I ask something that's been on my mind?"

Alethea nodded. "Of course, .... Alexandre."

"What do you think of me, apart from being a prince and your duty to protect?" he asked, his voice low.

Alethea's response was thoughtful. "I see a man who loves his subjects like family, is kind, wants to protect others, has a sense of justice, is responsible, and passionate."

Prince Kieran's eyes widened, his face illuminated by the moon. The sincerity in Alethea's words struck him like a revelation.

"Why did you ask that?" Alethea inquired, curiosity etched on her face.

Prince Kieran shrugged. "Nothing. What's your ideal type of man?"

Alethea hesitated before responding, "Someone with a sense of justice, who accepts me for who I am, values loyalty, and is compassionate."

The parallels between her answer and his own qualities weren't lost on either of them.

Alethea's eyes snapped wide, realization dawning. Prince Kieran's smile hinted at a shared understanding.
