Alethea's arms wrapped around Kieran, holding him tightly.

Just then, Elianne, Kieran's sister and Alethea's close friend, approached the corridor. Witnessing the tender moment between her brother and best friend, a joyful smile spread across her face. Deciding not to intrude, Elianne silently retreated, her heart filled with happiness for the pair.

As Kieran and Alethea held each other, the space between them transcended from mere friendship to something more profound, their bond strengthened by shared secrets and vulnerabilities.

As they stood there, wrapped in each other's arms, the world around them melted away. The torches on the walls seemed to flicker in rhythm with their heartbeats, casting a warm, golden glow over the moment. Alethea felt a sense of security and comfort she hadn't known in years, and Kieran's compassion and understanding enveloped her like a shield.

Just as they were about to pull back, Kieran's voice whispered softly in her ear, "You're not alone, Alethea. You never were." His words sent shivers down her spine, and Alethea's grip on him tightened.

They stood there for what felt like an eternity, the silence between them speaking volumes. Finally, Kieran gently released her, his eyes locking onto hers. "Thank you for trusting me with your story, Alethea," he said, his voice filled with sincerity.

Alethea's smile was barely audible, but Kieran caught it. "You're the first person I've ever shared that with, Your Highness," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper.

Kieran's eyes crinkled at the corners as he smiled. "Again? Call me Kieran or Alexandre, please. We're beyond formalities now." His gaze lingered on hers for a moment.

Elianne, still watching from a distance, smiled to herself. She had always wanted her brother and Alethea to share a special connection, but tonight, her wish finallycame to reality.

As they approached Alethea's chambers, Kieran halted. "May I call on you tomorrow? I'd like to discuss some matters regarding the kingdom's security." His eyes sparkled with a hint of mischief.

Alethea raised an eyebrow. "I'd expect nothing less from Avalor's future king." Her smile played on her lips.

Kieran chuckled, his eyes never leaving hers. "Until tomorrow, then." He bowed, his lips brushing against her hand.

Alethea's heart skipped a beat as she watched him disappear into the night, the warmth of his touch still lingering on her skin.

Chapter 7: A Father's Pride

Kieran stood before his father, Kinthane, in the grand study of their estate. He took a deep breath, excitement radiating from his very being.

"Father, I have news," Kieran announced, his voice filled with pride.

Kinthane looked up from the scrolls spread across his desk, a hint of curiosity in his eyes. "What is it, son?"

"I made significant progress with Alethea last night," Kieran revealed, a triumphant smile spreading across his face.

Kinthane's expression transformed from interest to intrigue. "Tell me more."

Kieran relayed the events of the previous night, detailing his conversations with Alethea and the subtle breakthroughs he'd achieved. His father listened intently, nodding occasionally.

When Kieran finished, Kinthane leaned back in his chair, steepling his fingers. "Well done, son. I told you she wont refuse you."

"Thank you, Father," Kieran replied, feeling a surge of validation.

Later that day, Kieran sought out his sister and updated her on everything.

"Good job, brother. I knew you two would make an amazing couple." said Elianne excited.

Kieran's expression, a bit uncertain, " But I'm not sure she has romantic feelings for me."

Elianne's expression turned thoughtful, "What if we try making her jealous. Maybe if she sees you with a girl that piques your interest, she might be jealous and behave differently. If she becomes jealous then we'll know that she likes you."

Kieran looked at Elianne with confuse etched on his face, "Which girl is capable of doing piquing my interest."

Elianne replied, "Princess Blake from the
Kingdom of Willire will be here by this afternoon. And she possesses similar qualities to your preferences. So, mom planned for you two have some alone time. I think you should agree to see Alethea's reaction."

Kieran asked with a questioned look, "How come I didn't know of this until now."

"Mom asked me to tell you. So, you agree?"
Asked Elianne back at him.

After careful deliberation, he agreed.
